Right, but does the kit have a particular name? Coolant System Bleeder Kit?

    Thanks.

Star Toyota is where I used to have all my service done and I had no complaints, but ever since they were bought out the service has become an anger-inducing joke.

Well I will see how it goes. The service consultant acted like they wouldn't do it unless it was a TRD kit. But I told him I bought it from a Toyota dealer. It probably depends on the tech that gets it. If they can't take care of it, I'll just pony up for the Mongoose and do it myself.

There are other kits that can be found for cheaper that do the same job, maybe check out a harbor freight.

I been using a similar one for the last 6 years on a lot of cars and trucks, never had a issue with bleeding the system

I told the wife I wanted a Mongoose for Christmas. She thought I had lost my mind until I showed her what I was talking about.

I only ever said trd sc. The advisor, tech, and even the service manager (who I bs'd with in the parking lot without knowing who he was, and he knew tacomas well) never mentioned the fact that it wasn't "trd" stamped.
    Hopefully goes well for you.

I told him it's identical to the TRD and I purchased it from a Toyota dealer. Once he popped the hood and saw it he sort of backed off of the "we can't do it" line. If they've seen the TRD one before they can tell it's identical in pretty much every respect.

I was just looking at the mongoose cable. Cheapest I see is about $480, ouch. There are TONS of knock offs out there though seeming to range from $30 to $300.

Problem with those cheaper cables seem to be the incompatibility with 64-bit operating systems IIRC.

I just left my Toyota dealer. They said that my ECU reported that it already has the most up to date TRD software. Probably because the Bully Dog screwed it up.

Like @TacoCat I insisted they re-flash it anyway and I would gladly pay the 1hr labor charge. He left with my keys and came back in about 10 minutes and said they tried but the system won't let them re-flash the ECU because the calibration ID it had is already the most current.

So I left thinking I would just figure out a way to do it myself. But on the way home, the truck magically no longer goes lean under boost. It runs like I expected it to from the beginning. Cruising at 15 AFR and with a heavy foot it hovers around 12 AFR. I haven't had the balls to do WOT yet, but I think I can call it good.

Anyone want to buy a gently used Bully Dog tuner?
