Abu came to us some time ago wanting to do an RST twin stick case and Marlin Crawler Taco box. When the taco box finally came in we got him scheduled to go. Once he showed up with the truck and saw my truck and Ricks truck he was hooked. He asked what it would cost to do a full Beast Edition and after I told him we were off to the races.

First off Abu had already done quite a few upgrades to this rig. Full Icon suspension front and rear, rigid lights and a TRD super charger to name a few.

But now he wanted to get serious.

First it was the RockSolidToys built twin stick case and Marlin Crawler Ultimate Taco box.

    IMG_4509%20Copy_zpsx2m2rif2_b9630e389c3bde38783c5d222c8da68244c022e0.jpg

    IMG_4116%20Copy_zpsnjrzhrnx_a94f0f08a5d164dd13c60e0feec09e8a5c838964.jpg

Then we started ordering parts. Dynatrac Pro Rock 60 front axle with 5.38 gears, ARB locker, 35 spline inner and outer shafts, one ton knuckles, huge brakes, and Dynaloc hubs with the shortie stub shafts.

Then the rear axle. A Currie Rock Jock 60 with 5.38 gears, ARB Air Locker, 35 spline axle shafts and disc brakes.

    IMG_4862%20Copy_zpsmt0vd2gt_fdc8f54ad96a32e7ecbd1c7d719986b4d9941c73.jpg

    IMG_4863%20Copy_zpszfxy0anf_1f02add62d370d0222e521711e0cff7ebeae77d9.jpg

Next were the shocks. King 2.5 12" travel coil overs with remote resi's with adjustable compression option. We wanted them black but the supplier screwed up and said it would be two to three months to get them changed and we didn't want to wait that long.

This truck will have the tested and proven RST Three link suspension under it. We'll keep this one low while still running 40" tires. It'll have DeMello-Offroad bumpers front and rear with a host of rigid off road lights to light the way.

To keep the tires under the truck and johny law off of Abu's back we'll be running Glassworks fenders front and rear and yes, the shell stays on.

I'm really looking forward to building this truck. It's going to be one of the funnest we've done.

    So we got started.

    First the tires came off.

    IMG_4968%20Copy_zpshr3ms3ao_f43ae29c28caa0062f0fd97cfa4d22a25ff139d2.jpg

Then all of that expensive Icon stuff.....

    IMG_4969%20Copy_zps6hbkcgos_19c21ada8a6b8a0c90188d4699f942046839301e.jpg

Then it was time to cut. We let Abu make the first cut then we took over.

Guy goes for transfer case job and ends up with an over-the-top 3-link front/rear SAS. Do you have some sort of religious cult going on over there? :D

Man, talk about bad ass axles. Are those regular old school rebuildable bearings or unit bearings in the front axle?

    LOL. No cult.

The front axles have the regular bearings and such. That's why I went with Dynatrac over Currie for the front. Plus these are the "shortie" stubs instead of the long ones on the stock trucks. Very good package.

I'm having a set of axles built by them for the Beasts as well but the rear will be the Pro Rock 80

Pro Rock 80? That's pushing the boundaries into the over kill zone:D

Awesome about the regular bearings on the front axle. Unit bearings are easier to replace but long term it is hard to beat the $$$ savings of regular bearings.

What are the "shortie" stubs BTW?

The shortie hubs are the hub kits that are a bit shorter than the regular hubs that stick out a mile. Love them.

Ahh, I see. If I am understanding correctly, I imagine the hubs shouldn't stick out as far out.

It's like De javu, circa 2009! Reading your Beast build all over again. :D

Curious to see to see how the shell is retained on a build like this.

As always, love your builds Wyatt.
