does anyone know of any regular halogen bulbs that will produce a whiter light? I don't want to go through the hassle of putting in a led kit. I just want the light to match my DRLs better! Thank you!
I was looking at something like these but don't know if they would produce any whiter light

The only thing that will get you LED white is LED bulbs sad to say. I had silverstars in my old truck, brighter but no much whiter.

There's no hassle to installing LED's. They are plug and play.

I am more worried about electrical shorts or fires if I install LEDs... anyone had any issues with them going out or causing problems?

I've run OPT7 Flux Beam's in 2 trucks and haven't had any issues. I believe in quality over price though. I won't buy cheap shit for my truck.

Ch78 is absolutely correct. No hassle whatsoever. Same as unplug/plug halogen bulb. You might be getting confused with HID set-up which requires additional modulator that needs to be attached.

If H11 Halogen bulb is a must for you, get Philips or Sylvania 6,000k (minimum temp) bulb. If you go cheap, you have high probability that the bulb will go out very fast and is not street legal.

What do you mean by hassle of an LED kit? I bought the Opt7 LED bulbs and they are plug and play. Literally twist out u plug old bulb, plug in LED and twist back in.

Edit: Disregard, everyone already addressed the LED bulbs. That said I put Opt7 in my fogs and lows.

Joe, (if your OPT7 bulbs are FluxBeam) you're not running into issues with these lights when using fog lights? OPT7 Flux Beam bulbs were my first choice when looking to switch out my low beam halogen bulbs to LED but stayed away when I read their service info stating that highbeam will turn on if fog lights is turned on for mid to late model Toyota trucks. So, I got Auxbeam F-16 bulbs at half the price and have no such electrical issues.

Not sure what you mean but in my 16' limited I ran Fluxbeam in my fogs and lows. When you turn your highs on the fogs go off just like they're supposed to. Everything functioned exactly like the oem bulbs did.

I can confirm they are the fluxbeam and no issues running the lows and fogs. The LED's I am using are the Headlight version. They do make a Fluxbeam Foglight which I was told to avoid, I can't remember the exact reason why though, so I bought the headlights and put them in my fogs.

Most people using LEDs in automotive applications have had problems with them "going out." I had a couple headlight failures within a year of installation, went through quite a few third brake light bulbs and just recently, my fog lights (which had worked for a year) started instantly popping my fuse. They look sick but be ready for premature failure.

Here you go....Maybe they fixed this problem. I just stayed away because of this service issue posted in item description. OPT7 is losing a lot of potential customers if this untrue, fixed this problem, or failed to update their ad.

Factory bulbs are in my glove box, just in case.

I honestly did not read this when I purchased them and thankfully have no issues.

Then you are few of the lucky ones. There are tons of good and bad review on this bulb In Amazon but more good than bad. I rearly wanted this bulb but took the safe approach reading their comment.
