Ever since I got my RTT I've been checking these things out, must be nice to set up camp and have your truck free to bash around

    No Joke!
    Happy wife happy life lol

But in all honesty, the trailer has been great, and it gave me a reason to weld something

Update... Took the trailer hunting last weekend, last trip for the season most likely.
    trailer.jpg

I got some Pelican 1660 cases for a steal, 3 of them will easily house all the small pack-able camping accessories I can imagine, and I have a 4th spare should I want to throw it into the truck for extra storage.

Winter upgrades will begin in the next few weeks.
    • Linear actuators (Never will I have to lift it into position again!)
    • Tailgate (Going with a barn door style, left swing out will have my dual burner cooktop, right side cooking accessories)
    • Fenders (dual purpose, the left side will have my propane tank on it as well as a prep surface on top of the wheel for cooking)
    • Front box maybe (Battery box, solar control, water pump, electrical)
    • Water tank (24 gallon custom tank underneath)
    • Solar (Renogy solar kit 100w)

Now I just need to find some time to make it to the steel supply to get my square tubing and I can begin on the tailgate area

I dont know why this isnt done yet. For the cross pieces on the bottom, did you notch the bottom sit and sit them down across that main piece going down the middle?

Not because of 7 day work weeks :sorry:

So to answer your question... At least I think I know what you asking. You are referring to my frame? Yes the receiver tubing goes all the way through. This picture should explain it.

Through it completely? like did you put holes in the cross pieces and slide them through? or did you just notch the cross pieces.

Cut holes, slid it though all the cross pieces, then welded all the way around

There we go. Couldn't see the other side in the picture. That's a neat idea. More strength for party activities.

Sorry, its Monday... Yes my idea was strength, and I can hook up stuff through the back of the trailer, like a bike carrier or something of the sorts, or tow another trailer if I was feeling ambitious..

I would never do it... I will be the first to admit I am not a pro at backing one trailer up, two would just be a great segment for Americas Funniest Home Videos..
