The extras would be a custom manual shifter box, to make it look like a automatic, custom center dash with wireless phone charger, led light switches for ecterior and interior, then put an electric rear window. Also have crhome cup holder and pocket for phones and etc. Its gonna be expensive to do all this. The most expensive part is getting the sound system. But when im done i'll have the molds and i might be able to male them for some other qst gen tacoma enthusiast.

How are you gonna incorporate the driver and passenger airbags into the equation? Are you going to be adding power windows/locks?

Im going add power lock, I dont know about power windows yet. And yes i have fit those into the equation. Im gonna mark the airbag areas will not have anything placed in front of them and the dash will still remain the same in thos spots but just have a wrap over it. Im gonna raise the dash where it dips down on the passenger side to fit the cb radio and kenwood tweeters. So that it does not interfere with the airbags. Ive drawn it out and thought it out several times. Im still gonna use the same dash but mold it diferently around the airbags. Everything will still look totally different

Hey thanks. I went looked at the drawings for the custom interior. I was thinking of puting the cb radio above the airbag in my head but in my drawing it was in front of it. Glad you said something or I would of just followed my drawing. I will fix that part tomorow.

Is the airbag going to be exactly the same as it is in the stock interior? Like same color, design, etc.

No the dash piece in front of it will be wraped in carbon fiber. And might change it a little. I wont exactly know until I take the dash off to see where i can work at. But it will not be the same color for sure

The handle would be either be uo and down right close to the door panel on the dash. Or side to side in the middle of the oassenger side of the dash

If you do figure out a handle, getting it wrapped in paracord to match your interior would be a sweet touch.

My other post is headliner not geadliner. And yeah thats what i was thinking. I would like tothin the dash a littke to so the handle would have a fush mount where the bolts so it would look like it was made with it. Well its gonna be a liitke bit before i can do this. I have to have all the electronics in and gauges to measure everything. And is there any way i can convert the manual a/c and heat switches to electric one?

Converting the climate control would be super difficult. Early 1st gens are all mechanical. You turn the temperature knob, it pulls on a metal wire connected to the blend door. You change the air intake, you push a lever physically switching the vent.

I mean, anything is possible. You could use a variety of servos, harnesses, electronic actuators, etc. Unless you have extensive experience with electronic fabrication I would keep the climate control stock.

Let us know how adding power locks go. I wanted to just swap the wiring harness of a 3rd gen 4Runner or 1st Gen Tacoma w/ power options, but apparently it's super difficult to adapt them to work. I wanted to add power mirrors, doors, and locks. Looks like I'm just going to go the 3rd party route and use aftermarket kits.

Yeah it will be difficult. Im also wanting to do the electric mirrors. Since im also changing the door completely. I might just use electric motor from another vehicle and locks. Im not keeping a lot the interior stock. Im going to do something different with the a/c. I will figure something out. I just finished carbon fibering the stock doors just to put something there until i change everything
