What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Existing ruts, frozen mud. Just wasn't able to see the deepness cause the ice

 

I did try the crawl control. Wasn't much more I could do. Was on the frame..

 

I have Amsoil fluid for the transmission and both diffs in the basement, just waiting for some nice weather to do it in.

 

Did you get the signature series or the OE ? The website says to call about a recommendation for the trans case . I wonder what they say and why .

 

I have a manual so I don't get a choice on the transmission. The reason the ask you to call is the transfer case uses a Toyota specific application that they (Amsoil) do not have a direct replacement for.

While I'm sure that they do have a transfer case solution, it may not match the factory spec 100% so may harm your warrantee if you suffer a catastrophic failure.

 

I've heard a lot of 10k talk on here, but I have a DCSB OR AT and mine were always scheduled for every 5k and I never had to pay for them, so I've always been confused by that. Sadly, I hit 25k in just over a year, but it's not really a lose-lose because I don't have to wait as long when I take it somewhere other than the dealer

I sent you what you would prefer in hardware immediately and explained your over site on the the door.

Sounds like this was a complete loss on you being happy with the product. If you are that unhappy with them to where you want to go elsewhere, send them back and I will refund your money and you can move on. Would rather lose your sale than have you angry with us every time you look at your skid plates.

No need to drag this issue out through the thread and clog it up with our back and forth so again, PM me on what you want to do.

I'm offering you some piece of mind. I remember long ago I bought a '92 Z71. Wasn't too experienced, but very excited. Stuck in the mud. Farmer pulled me out with his Z71. Imagine my embarrassment. It was a lesson. I was a little inexperienced, but the big difference was my stock tires vs his mud tires.

Point is, you have too be smart, careful, and confident. Not cocky. Also, buy some tires. Depending on your terrain, air them down. People underestimate tires. My Tacoma is unstoppable. I have climbed mountains and navigated things that had my passengers whiteknuckled and crying. I also got stuck in loose sand. That was my fault because my tires were 40psi balloons.

All these other mods are fun and practical, but anyone that goes off road will tell you: if yo can have only one thing what would it be: tires!

I am very respectfully telling you that it's you, and/or your tires. Not your truck. I tell you that so you'll feel better. Not to make you feel bad. Just get good tires, and maybe a lift if you think you need the clearance. And of course some LED lights and a TRD shift knob
