I gotcha, I'll see what I can do. Like I said I'll have to get a weekend with Levi so I can mess with his truck.

That's not a bad idea. I was just thinking the other day what I could do with the clock because I don't use it.

His wasn't open source though, he was selling his on his site. I saw that a while back though!
EDIT: ah i do see where he's got the source code, that's cool. His version he was selling had more than what's in that source code but that's nice for a basic inclinometer!

I'm at Levi's trying to mess with his sensor. It's not going as planned and I don't think I'll have enough time to actually get what I need up here.

I have a spare second GEN overhead console if you need the stock guts to play with

I was messing with the sensor itself but I couldn't get a reading out of it at all. It's only a thermistor. If there is a ton of interest in this feature(it would likely replace that whole overhead screen?) then I can order some parts and get it all working - compass and the temp as well.
I'm about to leave for business in a few days but when I'm back in town i may take you up on that offer!

    Updates though:
New screens haven't came in yet. was hoping to get to play with them before headed out for business. Also looking at picking up a 3d printer :spy:
Should I sell these, I'll offer a bare system with everything exposed and then also a sealed version that would be in a box.
It would have a few display modes; pitch(truck visual), pitch(° readout), roll(truck visual), roll(° readout), pitch and roll(truck visual), pitch and roll(° readout).
They would all be OLED screens so you won't need to set a brightness.

Food for thought. I have thought about adding GPS logging at some point that would log your trail and your most extreme angles and where you hit them. This is all stuff that would be cool to know on certain trails but I don't know if anyone else would be interested in something like that. I will be building a GPS logger anyways even if not tied to this so I can log my trails that I've been on and name theme, because I'm terrible at remembering what trails I hit during a wheeling trip.

Still not sure what the price would be though. First number that pops in my head is $100 but I also haven't sat down and thought about it too much, just thinking about cost of the parts to build it. The screens are the most expensive item on this.
And like every product, the more things that can be purchased at once and in bulk the better the pricing will be on everything so if I do something like a pre-order i may be able to get things cheaper.
I don't do this full time - this is only a hobby but I am doing my best to get the best prices!

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

It's going lol. Actually I was just thinking I need to update the thread.
I got hooked on 3d printing when I got my first one in the mail which was originally to make a box for this project... i'm now on my 2nd printer(though this one is practically the Bentley of printers). Good news is the basics of this project are done. I never got the bigger screens in because I wanted to wait and order those and some other things together and there was a back order on another piece I needed. Maybe I'll get on those by the end of the week because I know I need to get these finished. I'll also be adding more to it and doing more things related to this upcoming.

Hey cool project! I've always wanted an altimeter, would be a really cool feature to have on there. Also for the visual roll and pitch, is it possible to have a reference line, just to know your angle at a quick glance when the whole truck is already tilted over, you know?

    Really cool though
