Do you guys do anything with compressed air? Just curious why co2 is chosen over a 4500psi hpa system?

IAS is only focusing on Co2 at the moment. Co2 is just such a simple solution, no moving parts, no electrical, portable, efficient..... cheap (relatively).

I think I miss wrote what I was asking. Instead of bottles of co2, why not a high pressure 4500 psi bottle of compressed air? Similar to a scuba tank but much more and higher pressure air? That's what we use in the fire service not only to breath but to power tools and lift bags. Is there an advantage to co2?

I'm just trying to learn =)

Copy that, basically the volume of a 10b co2 bottle is roughly 3.5x that of a compressed O2 bottle. Co2 is just "more" air in a smaller package. Also running around with a pressurized cylinder in your vehicle has some safety concerns, with a Co2 bottle running around 800psi it's MUCH safer to have in the vehicle than a bottle running 4500psi. In the event of a valve decapitation the Co2 bottle would expel it's contents and very quickly get to a pressure that is manageable, while a pressurized gas bottle would potentially become a projectile.

This is literally the most valuable information I've ever read on this site.

I have no use for Co2, but in the event I do I'll be using it instead of compressed air. :)

I have seen anywhere from $10, to $25 on the high side. I pay $15 at my local beverage supply place.
