I looked down for what felt like a second and looked up to see someone stopped to make a left turn. Needless to say, I didn't get it stopped in time. I need some help from the estimators on the forum..do you guys think this is totaled? It's a 2011 prerunner with 99k on it. I know it's hard to say until they tear it apart but there was no airbag deployment...

My guess is its a goner, my daughter had the back end of a VW Jetta TDI pushed in about a foot, looked like just pull the trunk bed out and new bumper and lites, they stopped adding at $13 K

Sorry to hear OP! It could be worse, another member wrecked and broke his femur... It could be so much worse. Only a truck, a means of transportation and a piece of equipment, don't sweat it. As long as you are okay.

you better change your story so that you were looking down to beat-off and not because you were texting. They don't look kindly at that behavior.

It doesn't matter if texting or not.. He looked down.. Got distracted, it doesn't matter. Its all the same. We all make mistakes. Texting is no different than ANY other kind of distraction. Eating, spanking the kids.. Even looking in the rear view/ side mirrors.. Its all the same. I was riding with someone once who was looking in his side mirror to see if he could merge over, and rear ended someone. Or Even just to buckle a seatbelt. Its all the same.. People get so hung up on texting, "Oh you are terrible because you were texting and driving".. Oh yeah what about that hamburger you just ate,, or that CD you just changed, or that radio station you just changed. . Or that stupid GPS your lookin at and fiddling with when you should be looking at the road. when its EVERYTHING, None of it is any different than the other. Don't be so quick to judge. All that is important is that all involved are fine and uninjured.
