Mounted the SA-12 wired at 1 ohm on a Fosgate 1200. Stock head unit with a recurve, JL on the doors. Loving it. Best $200 ever spent.

So what happened to the three sub setup? The one with the sealed center sub and two ported subs on either side?

The three subs have been replaced with one 2.25 cubes with a three inch flared port.

what is the mounting depth of that sub?

Also how close does that get to hitting the back of the seat at full excursion?

Mounting depth is 6.5 and no contact with the seats. The seat plastic has been removed.

There is 4.55" of three inch port. It is flared so the overall port depth is deeper.

What do you think of this compared to the 3 sub thing? It has to be a much flatter response.

I'm going to own an SA 12 at some point. As soon as I figure out where to put a ported one :notsure:. I heard a sealed 15 not too long ago & it blew my doors off. That thing was almost violent.

Wow that is a massive box. Did you remove the rear cross support bar to make that fit?

No, just used fiberglass to form around the support

    Unknow

3 inch port is not near enough surface area for a 12 mate, thats only 7 Sqin of port
I wouldn't recommend being under 20 Sq in of port area for that 12.

Could that port be feasibly made in that enclosure? I'm still skeptical on the idea of putting an SA-12 back there. Never thought it could be done until I saw this honestly.

Just for you bro, did it this morning. 30 inches of port tuned at 35. Fricking huge pain. Gained 5 db's

Resurrecting an old thread. So after around two months, how's it holding up? Any changes? Enjoying it? Noticed any contact with the seat?

Loving it. Going to build a better box this spring. It needs bracing as it flexes at louder volumes. But overall, great sounding sub.

Bump. I'd love to run an sa12 in a double cab. Didn't even think there'd be enough mounting depth until I saw this. I know it's an old thread but I'd love to see box specs if anyone has them. All the "custom" boxes online look like flimsy trash that any decent sub would destroy.
