Blankets are amazing. Would rather pull off/on a blanket than have a sleeping bag I'm not even using. But like you said, different strokes.

or i can have my own opinion and offer up a pretty killer deal to a great local vendor here in CO. 20% off and free shipping is an awesome deal on an already affordable sleeping bag for us RTT owners. I was just offering up other brands, not trying to say one is better than the other or cheaper bud

I already own 2 Slumberjack Big Timber Pro bags, one in -20 and one 0 so I'm not in need to purchase a bag, just offering up other options to the people who are looking

Imma have to agree with @inv3ctiv3 here on this one, that's awesome you're supporting a local vendor, props to you, but the Teton's are tried and true, and I'd hate to test out a new brand only to find out its a dud or something. NOT saying your vendor is, just saying, I've been burned enough times before trying new vendors that I don't go down that route anymore lol

Well, moving on to lighting, how are folks lighting up the joint? I have a super cheap set of LED light strips I may fool with..but I have Black Diamond little lights that work well I just hang around..any ideas I'm not thinking of?

I bought a 5 pack of LED light strips from Amazon. They're powered by a AA battery pack with a simple on/off switch. I taped two on the inside along the top frame and one underneath the overhang for "porch" lights.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HC0J1VO/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o2_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Since then I installed a power outlet in the bed with USB and 12v plugs so I have more options if I wanted to get away from AA batteries.

I got the new Tacoma so I have the 12v already..but was hoping to avoid cords and cables if possible. But I like not having to remove stuff if possible. Yes it's easy and all but pre installed lighting would be cool.

The 16/17's have an optional bed light. Not sure how good it is, or price, but you can add it after the fact if you go to service/parts

all good, it doesn't matter to me what people end up buying. Slumberjack has been around for a LONG LONG time, i have a pillow from them when i was a young Boy Scout. Their camping products have been on the market for 40+ years. All good buy what you want

this is what the logo design looked like back in the day

This is pretty legit. Haven't tested in field yet but just got it and I think it will work great. Power by a simple USB power bank. They have one with a remote but I just got the basic one to test out.

Attaching the RTT to my all-pro bed rack, and it seems that there is extra space between the vertical bolts and the bed rack tubing(which is 1 3/4). This is due to the pre-drilled holes in the included rectangle metal bar, which i could easily redrill new holes. But is it ok up there like in this photo? Seems like there would be play for it to move, even though its attached tight. I will probably get those exhaust clamps which seem to conform better to the tubing, rather than bending up on those metal rectangle plates.

I did some pretty bad washboard roads and some trails this past summer, and my tent didn't move one bit. The rectangle plates were bent up a bit by the tightening down of the bolts.

I do have square tubing, however, but the same gap between the bolts.

    My .02.........YMMV

I tightened mine down a hair more, my flat piece isn't really flat anymore. When I tightened it down and kept it flat, I was able to shoulder check the RTT over along the All Pro bars, meaning it wasn't tightened down enough. I believe someone posted a couple months ago a different type of mount designed to be mounted on bars. Something that replaced the flat piece and cupped the tubing. Can't remember the name of them off the top of my head. Not U Bolts.
