Usually you can remove it and delete your truck from it. That's the way my pro cal was. Locked to my vehicle once used so that I can't go to other vehicles and do it, but once deleted from the vehicle it clears it.

I just got off of the phone with them as well. I ordered what I thought was the non inline version since the description said nothing about inline and had the photo of the LCD screen. Hypertech said they only sell the inline version for the 2016+. Does anyone with a 2016+ have the non inline version?

Is this the inline hypertech that you used?

If not the descriptions are totally off and they need to correct it

I asked hypertech if they offer a speedo calibrator for our tacomas that plug into the OBD port and they said they never have: "We have the programmer style that connects to the OBDII connector for
many vehicles but never for a Toyota. "

I still got mine from them, thinking it was the one that plugs to the OBD, guess not. Will still use it I snagged it for $189 shipped.

I bought the Hypertech inline speedometer calibrator and installed it in my 2017 TRD Sport. Taking the instrument console out is very easy to do. The speedometer calibrator works as advertised, and I'm glad I made the mod.

For those of you who increase your tire size and want your speedometer to read accurately, this is the way to go.

I agree, taking the dash off is super easy. Removed it to swap the dash bezel and it couldn't have been any easier. Looking forward to hooking this up

Not sure haven't installed to see if I see a change. I sure hope so b/c I'm driving about 65-70mpg (by gps speedo not my dash) and my mpg gauge is telling me 15-16 MPG per tank with the 3" lift and 33s... lol

Inline vs non inline is not a convenience thing, it is solely based on whether the manufacturer provides a controllable setting. They always offer non inline if they can but many manufacturers don't allow configuring these things dynamically.

Yes, after you calibrate the speedometer the MPG calculates correctly as well

Well.... I don't think I could have recorded a 30.6 avg MPG trip down Gulf Boulevard from Clearwater Beach to Treasure Island (35 - 40 MPH speed limit the whole way) if my MPG wasn't calculating correctly.
I have a 3" front /2" rear Lift and am running 305/50R20 tires.

30.6! That seems like something is off.

Normally I'm getting 20 to 21MPG per tank after I recalibrated my speedo to match my larger tires. The speedo is dead-on now. There are several different roadside radar "your speed is XX" signs that I've driven past and my speedo always matches the sign. I also used the GPS speed app on my iPhone and it matches that too.

Before the recalibration, I was getting 18 to 19MPG per tank.

I took a screen shot of the 30.6 average because it was exceptionally good. However, it was 100% flat driving (Gulf Blvd) and in that stretch of highway there are very few traffic lights, most of which I caught while they were green.

Well I'm super jealous, that's almost double my average, granted mostly city, mountain pass, and off-road.
