Just finished installing the Fortin Evo One on my 2016 Tacoma with H Key. Allows you to use your OEM key remote to start the vehicle and unlock the vehicle once it's started. I know there's a system being sold for the push button guys but there didn't seem to be a lot of info for us H Key guys so I thought I would do the install and post some info.

Pretty easy install but one should have basic wiring knowledge. All I purchased was the Evo One and the Flashlink2 to be able to program the unit. Some folks that sell the Evo One will flash the unit for you but I thought it would be best to have the flashlink2 unit in case there are updates in the future. I spent $109 for the Evo One and $43 for the flashlink2.

I made a quick video on YouTube. I will try and post a link but I am new to this video linking stuff.

Update: I was also just able to add the Drone Mobile to remote start from my smartphone. Works great!!!

Any questions PM me, happy to help others.

So the Evo one works as the immobilizer bypass as well? I got a viper system and used an "evo key" but was never able to get the immobilizer bypass to work. Just stuck the key in the ignition and called it good. I think it probably needs an update for my g key.

Yep the Evo One is an all in one unit. Had to call Fortin a couple times to make sure it did what I wanted it to do. They were very helpful.

i believe it's also compatible with the Drone Mobile so you can use your cell phone to control it. That's another $150 I wasn't ready to pay, maybe down the road I will add it.

Do the units come with detailed wiring and installation instructions?

Can you provide links to the two products you purchased?

Yes the instructions are detailed and it includes photos etc...if you go to Fortin website just select your vehicle and look for the Evo One for the vehicle you have and you can also search for the flashlink2. I included pics of both units in my original post.

I would check the Fortin website, I am not sure and would hate to give you inaccurate information.

Update: I was able to add the Drone Mobile to the Evo One to remote start from my smartphone. Works great and the annual subscription is one of the lowest I have seen! Also comes with 30 day free trial.

Did you have to run an antenna module or anything up thru your headliner?

Nope, just plug the Drone into the Evo One unit took about 15 mins to install

You need to check with Fortin. Go online or call them.

Headliner would actually be a poorer placement IMHO since you'd be putting it under the metal roof.

See my SmartStart install DIY for a great spot behind the instrument cluster. I get a good signal there. Lower down would typically also work, but it was so easy to get behind the instrument cluster I saw no reason not to go there.

Interesting on the Drone vs Smartstart plan pricing. Drone is better on the annual/basic but worst on the annual/enhanced plan pricing.
