My PS4 has been taking forever to download updates and new games, like 40 hours for a single update. Did connection speed on it and its only saying at best download is 400 Kbps. Sometimes it's no higher than 79 Kbps. My internet package is suppose to be up to 60 mb, while doing speed test on my computer its about 12.5 mb download. Ive tried changing manual settings on the PS4 like MTU and DNS. They helped, which is what got me up to 400 Kbps. What other things can I try to get the speed up? Or what do you think the problem here is? Ive also tried restarting the modem to no avail. Every other internet device in the house works normal.

One quick solution is to try pausing the download for a minute every once in awhile. There's a reason behind it but I don't remember what it is.

Also I've heard the speed tests ps4s run are not complete and just show a second. As you will always notice speed tests start on the bottom end and climb

This helps some, but only by minutes compared to the 20-40 hours of download time.

Wifi. About 80ish% strength. It has downloaded large games in the past relatively quickly. Now it just drags.

A newer modem will bump you up to 40+ mbps if you are just using what the cable company provides given if it's an older one. I went from around 12mbps to around 50mbps just by upgrading to a different router. I also run Cat6 cable but not sure if that will made much impact.
