    Honeycomb composite sleeper platform.
This afternoon while driving on the highway I noticed the hood was vibrating quite a bit near the corners. Truck is a 2013 with an aftermarket front bumper and rigid grill if it makes a difference.

The vibration had me a bit concerned as I never had that happen in any prior vehicle.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I'm interested in details on the honeycomb sleep platform though!

I had a noticeable vibration in the hood on my recently purchased '09; used small 1/2 section bits of 3/8" fuel hose to shore up the central bumpers (at the sides), the rubber bumpers at the front corners are "threaded" and can be adjusted by screwing them in/out of the hood frame as necessary...

Mine does the same thing, I remember searching when I was worried about it and found a few threads with people with the same issue. If you look under your hood you may find that the "glue" that holds the hoods "skeleton" to the bottom of the hood can get seperated, leaving the thin sheet metal of the hood to vibrate.

Edit: that may have been only on 3rd gens, here is the link I was the thread:

    Honeycomb composite sleeper platform.
Honeycomb material was sourced from an aircraft supplier ( I forget the name ). Honeycomb section is all aluminum with epoxy resin sheets on both sides. I cut out about 1/4" of the honeycomb material filling it with beech wood strips and epoxy. Thing is made in three sections for easy removal and install. A 200# person can jump in the center of the platform without any worry of collapse or deforming it. No supports structure is required.

Currently have a Roof top tent so the platform is not being used.
