I've heard good things about these. Kind of thing you'd rarely use, but would be hella glad you had if you needed 'em.

Bet that was was a bit nerve-wracking but also exciting. I'm not big on excitement though.

Walked into the local HD with a gift card from guess who? Yup. You're right.
Well the Dewalt rep happened to be in the house. I kept asking him questions about the whole Flexvolt system. I started walking away for a minute to get some rattle can primer, he said he'd give me a free pair of gloves if I'd buy the grinder. I told him I'd be back. But then he offered up a bunch of cut-off and grinding wheels. I said sure I'll buy it. But told him I'd be back. I just needed to get some paint. He wouldn't let me go. He then offered an extra battery on top of the current extra battery promo. I said is that all you have to offer? He said yup.
    Here ya go:

    Lies. Nothing beats this:

Can you guys give a quick review on these? Do they look and feel like they can do the job?

There are several brands. Maxsa, Smittybilt, Maxtrax.. @Tatts521 probably can give a review. I just didn't want to spend like 350 for maxtrax.

I think you said that you haven't used them. But can you guess at their durability?

Seem sturdy. The traction nubs are decent size and pretty high.

Haven't used them but did research the shit out of them before I bought them. They are grippy and solid. A little longer than maxtrax which makes them a bitch to find a mounting spot.

I walked into Home Depot with a plan:
    1. I was already gonna buy the Grinder, because they have a current free battery promo and I had a 10% off coupon.
    2. I knew that the Dewalt Rep would be in that day, because I asked last week.
    3. Dewalt is trying to get Home Depot to stock the full line of Flexvolt system tools for 2017 so they've been given End Cap retail space in the Home Depot stores for HD to evaluate the product and make a decision. Found that out last week as well (from the Milwaukee rep.)
    4. Every time HD Reps are on site to promote a intro product, they give out free stuff. I've gotten a full wood box 1/4" shank router bit set, a 5 chisel roll-up set, circ/recip/ saw blades, gloves and other shit. I think I once even got a SDS bit set.
    5. The rep dude really wanted me to get that grinder. Really, really bad.

I've got like 3 home depots within 5 miles of me. I wonder if I could get the same free stuff from all 3..haha. Not in the market for a grinder but I do need a driver..I was going to go Ryobi since I already have batteries for it

Where are you going? Snowshoe? Good luck. We were there for winter storm Jonas last year. That mountain is impossible with more than 6" of powder. Way too flat. Even the steepest trails are flat as shit. But besides that, it's a nice area.

And for what it's worth, I have TREDs and have found them for $100 shipped
