Hey guys - I just finished installing a set of PIAA LP530 Foglights on my 2015 stock bumper. The kit is advertised as plug and play for 2012+ Tacomas.

The large box contains the LED light kit, Tacoma specific brackets, hardware and instructions.

The wiring comes inside the box with the lights. There's plenty of wiring to go from the cab switch to the lights and to a power/ground source. Everything you need is there, but it's not as plug and play as I thought.

The included rocker switch was not visually appealing and if I wired it as instructed, my factory foglight switch would be inoperable and useless. I can't stand buttons that don't do anything, so I opted for a different solution. (I will also mention that the included wiring instructions showed a relay and different style switch, which were not included with this kit. These have a low power draw being LED, so I assume the inline fuse sufficed.) Regardless, I bought some H11 extension harnesses from Amazon, cut off the female end, cut the bullet connectors off the lights and soldered the harness on. This actually makes it plug and play and I keep my factory switch working.

The install was pretty straight forward. Take out 3 screws holding the fender liner in place, unplug the foglight connector and remove 2 screws holding the light in the bumper. The new one goes in with 4 screws (the two inboard screws include a spring to aid in adjustment).

***EDIT: Here are more comparisons after I installed some Rigidhorse H4 LED's in stock halogen headlight housings.***

After a quick drive around the block I can really notice the white of the LED's versus the yellow halogen headlights. I did the Foglight Anytime Mod, so using the LED fogs with the High Beams really helps to light up things both near and far. I may have to tinker with aiming them, but they seem to be an improvement over stock. I really like them so far. Besides the wiring, I really have no complaints. Well, maybe one other...now I'm going to have to get retrofits or LED's in my headlights so they match the fogs. I really like the color and output of these fogs. If you are looking to replace your stock fogs or if you didn't have any to begin with, this kit will have you covered. Easy install, great price and the quality you'd expect from a name like PIAA.

Thanks @automatcentral for the opportunity to review these lights!

im in the same boat I got the PIAA 530 driving lights that are hot LED white and my Halogens yellow, need some H4 light option to make it match up, was thinking the Philips h4 LED headlight bulb but I know there is limitations putting an LED in the halogen bowl

Were you part of the "try these for free and review" offer. Reason I ask is I was looking at these and the TRS XB's. I was wondering if you had compared the two before deciding on the PIAA's and if so, why you decide to go this route.

Yes, i was. I really wasn't planning on changing from halogens, but jumped on the offer when it came around. Review was still honest and I'd recommend to anyone in the market for LED. I haven't tried the others you mentioned so cannot give input.

I purchased a set of Rigidhorse H4 LED conversions on Amazon. Supposed to deliver tomorrow and I'll install this weekend. Decent reviews but they're all within last 6 months or so. Not sure about long term reliability and quality. They're supposedly designed for Left Hand Drive and include glare guards. I had an Amazon card left over from Xmas, so I figured I'd take a chance on these.

Thanks. Those do look really blue in your pictures so im guessing the 6K temp is about right. But then digital cameras never really represent what the eyes see at night.

XB's have a slightly lower temp, prob not noticeable and more lumens. Thanks for the reponse and write up on these.

I just bought my 06 double cab yesterday and already wanting to start with the upgrades! Mine doesn't have stock fogs and I would much rather keep the wiring and such stock but would like the fogs always on with the headlights. I read that the jumper on the relay trick works but there were some concern on the power consumption that shouldn't be an issue if using a LED light. Also, the PIAA lights are from 2012 and up??? I am no Tacoma expert but the bumpers look the same on the 12 as my 06. Since I don't have stock fogs can anyone chime in on if I will need a different stalk switch (turn signal with light control) or is it a simple toggle to the left of the steering wheel? I do know that I need the relay. My truck is blacked out so hopefully I can find a led that is smoked. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think the 06 has the same sized fog hole as 2012, you can call PIAA customer service tho to see if that application would work

I replaced my halogen headlights today with some Rigidhorse H4 bulbs from Amazon. The color is pretty close, but not exact. They have 8 small LED's and glare guards on each side of the light.

looks good let us know the comparisons to the halogens, I read your previous post about the right hand drive glare guards on these which is important for LED headlights, from what I have found out about the Philips h4 lights is that the glare guards are set up for LEFT hand drives FYI to those thinking about the PHILIPS

Just wanted to give a quick update...After having these for about a month now, I'm still totally satisfied. I love the color and they put out good light. I liked the white look of these so much, I had to update my headlight bulbs. I think @automatcentral can get you taken care of on that front as well.

    Thread revival....

You mentioned an inline fuse being used but I did not see one in the pics you posted? Reason I am asking is because I want to wire in LED fogs to replace my OEM ones but I really want to keep that factory switch.

This setup will allow me to do so once I cut the female end off the H11 extension harnesses, splice in the fog light and connect the male H11 extension harness into my factory harness, correct?

The harness that came with the lights had an inline fuse using an old style glass mini fuse. You can barely see the white plastic housing near the twist tie in my first pic that shows the harness. If you're wanting to reuse the factory switch, just buy the harness adapters and cut splice connectors at the fog lights. You don't need to add any other fuse for factory switch.
