Good to hear! That's what the armor is for. Not bad for the journey.

I love that places like this that the normal everyday person would find lifeless and frightening can hold so much beauty and fun for people like us that want to explore outside of the mundane.

Thanks for sharing your adventure, it looks like it was a blast.

Thanks again for the kind comments! I really appreciate it!

As far as "room for one more", we do plan on having new people join on certain trips in the future. Probably sometime beginning of next year we'll be posting a "resume" of sorts to find a good candidate. When more information comes about I'll be posting it to our Facebook/IG/Website.

Nice write up on the trip. I want to thank you for respecting the valley. I worked there in the mid 80's for 3-4 yrs and for another 3-4 winter after that. Everything looks well cared for. Last time I went over Mengel pass in a rig was in 81' Chevy C10 short bed, handled everything with ease. Count yourselves fortunate to catch a super bloom. I have seen 3, each magnificent in it's own way.
A few more tweaks on the Taco before I head back that way. Thanks for sharing.
