Plus it's trivial to pick up some 22ga wire at Radio Shack to practice on at your desk.

I think I will. So how would I go about canceling the dealer order? The truck, and accessory bill, have already been paid for.

LOL! Real answer depends on what exactly your paperwork says. I didn't realize you were already paid up.

BTW you *are* talking about a push to start Tacoma, right? The DBALL2 kit we're all talking about doesn't do manual transmission / non-PTS trucks.

Definitely call ASAP and tell them you've changed your mind. Just say you thought about it and can't stand the idea of a second remote.

Worst case if they won't give cash back get (in writing) credit for accessories/service. We can certainly help you spend your money. Header rail and a bed mat for a start. Frameless autodim mirror with homelink is nice. :)

So what is the big deal between your guide and the KB Voodoo kit? Not trying to poke the bear here, just genuinely curious.:confused:

No big deal as far as I'm concerned. I'm a curious sort and like figuring stuff out and sharing info. It happened around the same time Nickj718 and KB VooDoo put together the kit that KB VooDoo sells on his website. I wanted to be clear that it wasn't and isn't my intent to compete; I just wanted to share the info for everyone. For those who are experienced at such things and may have multiple vehicles to do they have the info available to roll their own, for those whose skills are in other things, the KB VooDoo option is a good choice. There's a lot of value to having someone to stand behind the product if you have a problem.

yeah, hardware is the same so it comes down to personal preference. Some would rather support a TW vender or may not trust the ebay/Amazon sellers and don't want to have to deal with them in the event of returning/replacing a bad dball. KB has already replaced two that were DOA and it seemed to be a fairly quick and painless process.

Gotcha. Makes sense. Maybe I'll give it a go. I guess if someone is going to be snipping wires in my truck, might as well be me :quickdraw:

Plus there's something to be said about that feeling you get when you hit that button 3 times and it starts up knowing that you did it. That or the whole thing starts smoking.

the accessory(remote start) was not installed yet & no reason they can't give you your money back, however, stealerships are not big fans of giving money back. It may take a little convincing, but don't accept no for an answer! :)
