POS Door Lock Actuator

Okay so my door lock is acting up again at random times. It's a pain considering I have to unlock the door from the back. I know the actuator can be cleaned but I can't seem to get it out of the door shell. What are my options? Will any place besides the dealer take care of this problem?

 

Are you sure it's just not a shitty connection to that actuator?

Well I had my local body shop guy who looked into it when I dropped the truck off for another issue. He couldn't get the lock to stick and even took it out three to four times just to see if it would. Evidently the connections are good, at least outside the housing

 

My nephson gets his fat ass stuck in the window when doing that

I haven't had to fix my actuators on my 06 but have in the past on my Lexus.

In my ex's '06 1 ton Ram, the wires, where the went from the body into the door, would break and need to be soldered back together. Maybe same here?

 

I think the motor in these gets clogged with carbon and it ends up losing power over time. I ordered some new motors to I install

 

Details on motor please. My front passenger side actuator hasn't worked right in a couple of years now on my 08 DCSB. Very frustrating and not a cheap fix to replace the actuator.

 

These are the ones I ordered based on another TW member. He says they have been working flawlessly for the past couple of months. $10 is worth the shot

 

I had to do an actuator on a Rav4 this summer. I tried to open it up and give the contacts a good cleaning. Have read a few threads where people were successful with that. Didn't work for me though so I just bought a replacement and that did the trick.

 

Sometimes the motors are too damaged to clean. They can burn up, so I'm just going to replace the entire motor. The assembly should be fine.

UPDATE: Door lock not longer works. The motor has been ordered and should be arriving Saturday. I have to say it's becoming a PITA to open the door especially when I'm in a hurry. I hope the motor fixes it
