Terra grappler G2 for 17 trd sport

Hey taco owners just wanted to see if anyone got the g2 tires installed on their truck and how its performing so far. I really want a tire with not too much road noise and that performs well in the snow considering I live in buffalo. Please post pics of yours I'm considering the 265/70/17 size, and also weighing this tire against the duratracs, but am open to any suggestions you guys may have. Thanks

 

No experience with Duratracs but I did just put on Nitto G2s after a week with KO2s. Prior to that I had Toyo A/T2s which were cupped and feathered in 22k miles.

The KO2s were quiet but rode really rough even after having a high end tire shop index and road force balance them. I loved the look but the ride was crap.

I've had he Nittos for a couple of days and they're 265/70/17 P rated tires for my 95% pavement use. So far so good. Acceptable noise and great ride on the pavement. We got a couple inches of snow last night so we'll see how they do in the snow later today.

 

14k miles on them so far, have been great in rain, dry pavement, sand, dirt and mud. Today will be the first time they get to play in the snow.

 

I have them and love 'em! Best truck tire I've ever used, IMO.

 

They got me to the mall today.

 

I had them for a few thousand miles. Hated them. Not good in the rain. Back end of the truck was all over the place.

 

So far so good. I have had them about a month on my 13 sport. Smooth on the highway and have done well on my limited off roading so far. Got me to work this morning in the little snow we got

 

Seem to be good in about 6 inches of unplowed roads

 

I have them on my 4Runner and love them. I'd put them on my Tacoma but I'm too cheap to toss the originals because they are still practically new.

 

That's the first bad report I've seen. What are you running now?

 

I have a set, been running them for over a year say 14K miles.

For what they are they are fine.... a little noisey.. you will notice that on the highway. A little slippery in rain as mentioned.. but that's I think due to tire pressure. We are in the midst of a nice snow storm. Went to the gym to swim laps, in 4wd I had no issues at all. It 2wd not sure truck was planted specially in the rear.. again likely tire pressure. I'm running 37psi cause when the air temps get into the low to mid 20s like today they loose like 4 psi. First tire I've had that looses 3-4 psi in cold weather. Soooo I'm aired up and now in rain and snow its not optimal but over all happy with them. Great tire wear and great off road.

 

My G2's (265/70 17) here...and all is good.

I just couldn't get the G2's to grab the road. The wife demanded I get rid of them after a wild ride in the truck one day. I listen to momma.

That's interesting. I had some for probably 15,000 miles and they did fine in the rain. And it rains a pretty good bit here. I recommend the G2s all the time. I used mine mostly on road, but did off road with them and they handled that well too. Also, they did better than I expected in the snow and they are very quiet.
