I'm not sure I can even explain it. All I know is that my brain can process the mechanics of the movement!
I also back in the traditional manner, right arm on the back of the passenger seat, turned around looking out the rear window.

By concentrating on the hitch, i instinctively know which way to turn the wheel in order to make the hitch go in the direction I want.

Yup. Pretty sure that made no sense at all!!!

Thanks for trying to explain. I guess everybody uses the method that works for them. I look forward using my mirrors to look down the sides of the camper with my hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Slow so only minor corrections are required. Tell the wife to show me it goes and use her as aim point.
    Don't think she knows that.

Just picked up my 2016 Ski Doo Summit 146" track with 2.5" paddle. Now waiting on the snow. This truck was NOT meant to tow. I got 80 miles to a half tank. But it looked so good doing it!

All season mats, 2nd filter delete, DT header, Jardine cat-back, URD shifter, Bilstein 5100's all around at .85 front with Eibachs + .25 passenger/.5 drivers spacers and 1.5 AAL, 0w20 synthetic, Scanguage II, extra D rings, OEM backup camera+Mirror, bed mat, Extang Solid Fold, Popnlock 5300, Pro Comp 7089's 4.5bs 285/70/17 Revo 2s, De-badged
Backing up a single axle just takes practice. Over time you get better. I was terrible at first and then after the first season a can whip that camper around like crazy

    For the teardrop crowd...
Added a LED tv with DVD built in. And the under cabinet baskets for shoes to keep them out of the elements.

wife is smart. having your own bathroom rocks.

I still wanna put a lift kit on it and bigger wheels, so it will go over dirt roads a little better.

We considered Scamps and Casitas too. Where we go, ain't no one else around, so woods bathroom is no big deal.

Pulled an Acura RDX from southern cali to northern Nevada yesterday...trailer weighed right at 6k and pulled fine but the truck struggled a bit over the Sierras on hwy 88. Just went slow and steady and we did fine. I think it helped a lot that I have a 6 speed.

49' boom lift weighing just over 5,000lbs. Wouldn't want to tow it on the highway without a weight distribution hitch. (I'm running Dakars with the 3rd leaf removed)

This gets dragged behind the truck about 4-5000 km per year. Estimated 2500 - 3000 lbs, tows great but it really works the engine in the hills. Averages 14.5L/100km (16 m/USgal) when towing. Racks on the truck are for my rooftop tent. DSC00069_zpsuwsecnd5_3df0209a566a9e8a1aa4720a97a0f6fdbb973192.jpg
