You guys sure aren't making it easy lol! I went and checked out the Tacoma's and 4Runner's this past weekend. Seemed like the build quality on the 4Runner's was a little better with less technology compared to the new Tacoma's. Maybe I'm wrong but just my humble opinion.

I would love a MT Tacoma but there's all of two in entire state of CO which is crazy. Would likely have to order one I guess if I go that route. Seems like there's a lot of pro's and con's of each vehicle. Was great to hear the feedback so far thanks!

Lots, about to sell it and come back to Tacoma though.
I'm in the same boat. Looking at selling my 155k 2007 FJ and then trading in my F150 for a 17 TRD OR Tacoma.

My wife went from a '12 FJ cruiser that I had put a Baja rack on to sleep on and that would go anywhere to a 15 Porsche Macan. Bad trade for me. I can't sleep on top of the Macan. Nor will it go anywhere.

I have a 2010 FJ and just kept it when I bought the Tacoma. Love the FJ and I prefer to drive it. Won't ever sell it.

I've had my 2017 SR5 DCSB for a couple of months now and love it, replacing a 2005 TrailBlazer that served me well for 110k trouble-free miles. My wife has a 2009 FJ she bought used in 2013, now with 120k on the clock.

I love my Tacoma, she loves her FJ. It works.

(I snapped that pic on Valentine's Day 2014. The missus and I were returning from the shooting range, and the guy in the Corvette was last-minute shopping for a greeting card. Reportedly his truck broke down, and it was either risk crashing the 'Vette or face divorce. :D)

I had a 2013 FJC Trails Team. Absolutely loved it and only traded it for a Tacoma to have the, lack there of, bed space. To me, the new interior of the Tacoma is refined for everyday drivability but I really like how the FJ Is about bare essentials. Gives it a more rugged-utilitarian feeling. The overall build quality felt better in the FJ, felt like a more solid vehicle while driving.

Maybe it's just me but I prefer the 4.0L engine over the new 3.5L. I like not having to rev it out anytime I need to get the truck to move. You remember seeing those commercials of new drivers where they slam on the gas then hard on the brakes? That's what I feel like sometimes in the Tacoma during rush hour traffic. I picture the people in the car next to me yelling "hey dumbass! Learn how to drive!"

The FJ's exterior styling is cool. It's manly (as long as it's not that Fusion or yellow color). You know what it is when you see one. Although they are almost 10 years old, they don't really look like.

In terms of resale value, I made out pretty well. I purchased mine with 11k miles and traded it in with just under 40k miles and lost only $1,500 (bone stock). That's hard to complain about. I plan to purchase another one in the future.

Love my new Taco but may never get over the loss of my FJ. Have had a few things since the FJ, always looking to get that "feeling" back though. Loved that thing!

I swapped from an 07 FJ Cruiser to my Tacoma for the extra gear carrying capacity. The FJ was fun to drive, but I haven't regretted my decision.

I had a 2007 Fj and Ioved that truck! Was sad to sell it for financial reasons. The power train was good except I didn't care for the premium gas it called for. Not a big deal. The 3rd gen Tacoma has been a great truck so far. Don't regret getting it.

After having the Tacoma for a couple months. I like the interior and the tech. I like having a bed to haul stuff and am glad I got a double cab. I can fit my Great Dane and kids. The transmission sucks, The "ECT" button is stupid. It only has decent power when I turn it on, so why is there the "off" option. The MPGs are not really different with it on. There is a grumble in the engine when cruising through the neighborhood if you just slightly give it gas. Sounds like main bearing rattle or something.
