Any suggestions for a gen 1 (01-04) front bumper and if possible rear bumper that won't make me go bankrupt. I'm not a welder or have to proper equipment to do welding so DIY kits are out.

Without breaking the bank? you want front and back? get a fabricator near you to give you a quote. if you whore yourself out you might find a friend of a friend thay works out of their garage and can build you a bumper pretty cheap. if you don't wanna do that expect to pay near 2k on bumpers

Have a 4x4 armor rear bumper, my dad backed into his girlfriends car on one side and scratched the powdercoat.. Destroyed front of her car. Then on the the other side I backed into a big rock slightly bent the bumper, shattered the rock

I wish I had a plate bumper about 2 months ago. Was at a restaurant in a shopping center eating. Came out and the left rear of my truck was smashed. You can see the exact spot the vehicle hit on my stock rear bumper. Huge dent, bent the whole side in and up. The bend up caused a busted taillight and possibly a small bend in the area under the tailgate (tail gate won't open). Might just be the bumper that is stopping the tailgate though. The bend in cause the area between the bumper and the fender to crumble and pushed the fender into the tire. Also caused a couple ripples in the side of the bed near the gas cap.

Pure speculation of course, but judging by where the impact happened, a plate bumper wouldn't of bent like the stock bumper. This would of avoided the damage to taillight and bed. I've read people's responses saying the cost of a plate bumper is way more than the cost of a replacement rear, but like mention it is rarely ever just the bumper (see above). So a $700-1000 rear plate bumper, minus $100 for what you sell the stock bumper for. Compared to the cost of a stock replacement rear bumper, factory taillight, and the cost to fix the entire left side of the bed. Add into that the cost to paint to match and labor, and I'd say the plate bumper is coming in way cheaper than the repair price.

Bad news is this happened a couple weeks before deployment so the truck sits injured. Good news is this happened a couple week before deployment so I get 6 months or so to think what plate bumper I'm going to replace the stock bumper with. I'll probably end up getting a nice plate rear bumper, banging out the rear quarter damage to make it look presentable, and just living with the couple wrinkles in the bed since there were already a couple dings anyway from normal truck use. Also might look into the rear bumpers that have the side pieces and just doing away with the dented up rear quarter.

If you knew my circumstances you wouldn't be a judgemental doosh bag thanks for playing though and nice try. My actions were justified and if I could go back I would have done the exact same thing

Long story short. I was at a party that ran out of alcohol. We went to get more. On our way back got a call from both of our girlfriends saying they were both being attacked by drunk guys and no one there was helping them. At that time I was 10 mins away. Turned it into about a 4 minute drive until I flipped it not even half a mile from his house. We walked to his house after the roll and the guys were gone after our women had punched them a couple times and put one in a choke hold. Not sure exactly what happened but heard a car pulled up and as soon as the girls were done beating on them they jumped in the car and bailed. After my buddies chick got hit in the face by one of the dudes. So yea I'd say my driving was justified to try to get back to deal with guys attacking women. I don't put up with that shit

That's some story. Still doesn't justify driving like an asshole in my opinion. If they could call you, they coulda called the cops. Too bad the other people at the alcohol fueled party were a bunch of pussies and wouldn't help. But you probably wouldn't have crashed had you not been driving like a asshole. Bottom line is you put other peoples lives at risk and you're still lucky you didn't kill your buddy or someone else. "Doosh"

We'll think whatever you want I'm not here to argue with people about what happened yes I was driving like an ass hole. Have you ever called the cops btw? It takes them more than the 5 minutes it would have taken me to get there and half the time they don't show up so we figured we could handle it ourselves as we would have if our women didn't do it themselves. And to tell you the truth other than me and my buddy which yes it could have been alot worse and he has heard apologies from me for years I will never be able to live that down but other than that we were on a back road with no one on it so really only people's lives on the line were mine and his. Also before this story took place we had a call from the girls saying shit was starting to go down and a cop did pull me over and I explained to him my story. Instead of him offering to go to the house he let me go. I asked him if he would go and he told me he had other stuff to be handled then to deal with a couple drunk people. So cops were no help. Reason he pulled me over was because I went from 65 with him roght behind me to 90 I'm like 3 seconds after the first phone call. I could give you the whole story but it's long

Alright...each side made its point. Just drive slightly less like an A-hole next time and you'll get there quicker. ;) It's douchebag, not doosh bag or doosh. Back to picks of bumpers, don't turn this into a sword fight.

Thinking about it. Although I'd prefer to keep the flares and just cut away the panel before it. I've seen a couple like it, and depending on the results of banging out, I might go that route.
