Did you know it's against the law in the State of California to willingly collect rainwater on purpose without a permit?

"This new law was made so that California could better meet its “20×2020 goal.” The goal is to reduce the state's potable water demand by at least 20 percent by 2020. Before the Rainwater Capture Act of 2012, residents could only collect rainwater if they received a permit from the SWRCB."

It's illegal for us to collect rain water as well. No permits either. Though not really enforced.

Really dumb...lol...would love to irrigate with it, but then again, doesn't seem to rain enough in the summer to make it worthwhile.

It's not against the law. It used to be. Your own quotes show that - "before the Rainwater Capture Act of 2012, residents could only collect rainwater if they received a permit..." so the rainwater capture act of 2012 made it legal, with no permits necessary.

My bad, I was thinking of Nevada. I got the two mixed up. I know for a fact it's against the law there. The code is NRS 533.030

In the last two months we've had more rainfall than we've had in the last two years.

And we picked up another 2" today at my house! At work, I hiked a mile up this normally dry wash to catch this video of the normally dry Black Rock Falls.

Just a few inches, but by far the worst driving conditions to date this winter! Snow on top of slush on top of water! Temp is 33F so it's not melting and it's not freezing! Now there some shit sleet to go on top of the shit we already have! Taco handled it well. And the wife waited so she could take it to work. Not so worried about us in the Taco as the other idiots! Had a BMWer tailing me most of the way home. Had visions of parking him in the bed:D But I just turned on the 4-ways at random intervals:laughing:

We had 6+ inches of snow overnight last night and yesterday's high was 16 degrees. Today it's supposed to be in the 40's and clear, and then tomorrow's high is supposed to be 18 degrees and we're getting at least this much:

Earlier in the week this storm was supposed to be a dusting, but it's been tracking further and further West as the week has gone on. Right now I'm on the line between 4-8 and 6-10, and the weather people are saying that there's a strong possibility that it'll bump far enough west to dump well over a foot for my area.

Isn't Mass supposed to get a pretty good dose out of this same storm?

Nah, I fill the wood rack on Sunday and it keeps the house heated all week.

Edit- Besides, the woodshed that I built this year is maybe 20 feet from the house, and it's still got probably 3 cord in it.

We got a bunch of snow the last 4 days too. Now packed to ice.
Freezing rain's the worst. Good luck & be safe.
Even studded snows aren't great with that.

Been there, done that. Sucks. And the last time it happened I didn't have power for a week. At Christmas, lol. Wood heat FTW.
