I'm pretty boring so I guess it wasn't hard for the computer to figure out.

Please feel free to re-read what you quoted. "It also had the modified springs/steering damper with the shim to change the angle of the differential and mine has no vibration as a result."

I wasn't just speaking to the software update. The TSB for the rear leaf springs include the shims to change the angle of the differential relative to the driveshaft to eliminate driveline vibrations. So, as a matter of fact, it does have to do with the OP's issue, as he also private messaged me for more information with pictures of the updated part and shim to identify if he could possibly benefit from the fix if he didn't already have the new leaf springs.

    Perhaps you missed that TSB?

Well that's certainly one way to admit you were wrong.

    Scooby,

Is there an easy way to tell if my 17 came with the updated springs, and shim?

Yes, you should be able to check even without having to get under the truck. Take a peek at the inside of your far end spring from the wheel well and see if this shim is visible. If it is, you've got the new leaf springs.

Thanks man. It's great to have so much knowledge on here, and guys like you willing to go the extra mile with help like this. I will check shortly, and report back.

    Cheers!!

Update, mine has the little shim. Not as easy to see now that it's grubby, but a quick scrub with wire brush confirms it's there. Thanks, again. I will also say I haven't noticed any issues with vibes anyway, but nice to know.

I love the truck, my only legit beef is with the tranny upshifting too quick, and not downshifting quick enough. I run mostly in S5, unless I'm on a downhill or above 60mph. Never had a vehicle that required this kind of babying to keep it in its power band.
