We're going to be meeting a possible young new addition to our household on Monday! Depending on if she gets along with Tiger and Spicey okay, it's a definite go. She's 8 months old, and she looks very similar to Spicey, who is a brindle staffordshire terrier, so I thought about "Mini" for a name, since she's only going to grow to, maybe 2/3rds of Spicey's size.

According to her current owner, "the father was a boxer and the mother an unknown mix, but presumably Rhodesian Ridgeback, Blue Heeler, and some terrier." Her current name sounds far too similar to Spicey's so we have to come up with something different.

I went through some other threads on names, and came up with these others; could anyone help with any other suggestions? Or any 'seconds' on any of the ones I've picked? Hubby has been sorta unhelpful, and has poo-poo'ed just about everything I've come up with, but unless he comes up with something else, one of the names discussed in this thread is going to be it. biggrin_797b118fec8dca0dbf1acd4fb242058ee6271bdf.gif

    Mini
Echo (continuing on the 'mini Spicey' theme)
Roma (this is throwing a bone, so to speak, to my hubby who is a history buff)
Aella or Ayla (found in another naming thread; pronounced I-la; Gaelic for whirlwind)
Poppy (From the "Off The Leash" comic that cracks me up so much)
Freyja (always loved my Norse mythology)
    Ziza (another Germanic goddess)

On to some pictures! I didn't take any of these, these were on the post that I found about her:

She looks like a total squishy love-ball, and possible hurricane, just like Spicey is. Any props on my above name picks or others would be very much appreciated! smile_d84a7f7632dc1ee49077670ad76d9057d8f1c495.gif

Thanks for the response you guys! And Farrah is a terrific name also...hubby and I are old enough to remember and appreciate the loveliness of Ms. Faucett. :)

We've met Batsy twice now, and we're going to try one more time this coming Sunday but we're not sure it's going to work out. Spicey (@6 year old staffie) is having a really hard time with Batsy's energy level, surprisingly. The first meeting on Monday didn't go very well at the outset, but seemed to improve as we walked around the park we met at. This second meeting today went much better, but Spicey still becomes highly agitated with Batsy's exuberance, sadly. Clearly I might have jumped the gun on this one thinking we were going to get to take her home. Still, it's better and safer to know now, than to have Spicey get so frustrated at some future point that, God forbid, she mauls Batsy.

So we'll be looking for a more mature girl or guy to add to our home instead, and lord knows there are plenty of those on Petfinder.
