Here's a tutorial on setting up a Techstream subscription. They have a series of videos on doing different functions within the Techstream software. The videos are meant to support their own tool, but the process will be the same using the Mongoose.

I don't have a particular date in mind, but February is fine. The sooner the better. I'm surprised more people don't want in on this considering the usefulness and utility of this cable.

 

I think a lot more people would be interested if the software wasn't subscription based.

As a possible workaround for that, there are bootleg versions of Techstream around. I wouldn't use the bootleg version for say flashing a module. But for just normal diag stuff I'm sure it would work fine.

 

I can ask and see what they say about signups. I'll also ask if they can do a group buy of 5 and what that price would be since we seem to be stuck at that number. Might not be worth their time at that though.

 

I doubt they can do anything about subscriptions. That is all handled by Toyota I think. If they can still give us a deal with only 5 participants that would be most excellent.

 

Since its the weekend I doubt I'll hear back until at least tuesday, but I'll shoot them an email anyway. The guy seemed very eager to help with the GB when I talked with him before.

I emailed tuner tools and they said if we were interested in doing a gb for five, they can look into pricing options. He said it wouldnt be as good as if we had ten but he would look into it. He also said theres no cutoff to get to ten people, and he suggested holding off a little longer since people will start filing tax returns and have extra dough to spend.

 

I've been following this thread, and I want to buy one but seeing as I just got the apropriate truck for my supercharger I kind of want to wait until I install it and see if I run into any issues before I commit. Hopefully I will get it installed soon, just waiting to see the total cost. Dealer told me 16 hours to install it, 2-3 days in the shop
