    Thinking about putting one in similar to the up stealth box in the center console but maybe with a 6 inch sub to save space.
    Anyone done anything similar ?
    Or have any great ideas?
    Thanks y'all!

    Here's what I just installed this past week in my '06 Access Cab. I'm super impressed with how hard and how deep this box and amp achieves off of my Kenwood DNX-6960 deck.
    • Subthump single downfire box (you can order for a round 10" or square) - great depth for very large and deep sub magnets
    • JL Audio JX500/1D mono sub amp (500W RMS)
    • JL Audio 10W3V3-2 10" single 2 ohm subwoofer
    • 4 gauge amp install kit
    I used a clean, solid ground spot in the center console to handle the power. Positive cable comes straight from battery and passes through a grommet in the passenger side firewall (fuse installed inline close to the battery). I have no voltage drop at all from this setup, and after running the sub HARD for a solid half hour, the amp was barely warm. Very efficient, and the output shakes my eyeballs. I've had big stereos before, but the acoustics in the access cab matched with this setup really hit some powerful lows after you get your adjustments set right on your amp and on your stereo's crossover settings.

    Here's the box in place. I'm pulling out an old PA amp from under the passenger seat to make room for the JX500:

    @Seabass
    How easy is it to move in and out ?
    I regularly use the storage under the back seats so I'm conflicted.
    I guess I'll just have to figure out what I'm willing to sacrifice.

    Very easy. Just lift slightly and scoot it aside. It's not anchored down unless you want it to be. It stays in place very well, though. The lip of the box that covers the access seats only overlaps by about 4" so just move the box sideways that far. If you need both seats to lift at the same time, you'll need to move the sub box out from behind the center console and turn it sideways. The speaker wire disconnects are on the rear of the sub box, under the lip that overlaps the seats. Very easy access.
