    Hey everyone -

I'm considering purchasing a Tacoma in the next 4 or 5 months, I have a 2003 Silverado SS that is getting high in mileage, but is still worth about 10K. I'd like to add a TRD big brother to the family to match my MK4 Supra:

    Screen%20Shot%202016-10-28%20at%2010.23._5a521fe5288f9e722467cb0ebb7adec5eabd568f.jpg

I'm starting my research now. I have an idea what I want, but I want to get a feeling of the possibility of making this work.. I searched around a lot, but I didn't want to call 900 dealerships if people here have dealt with this and can save me that time.

What I would like to find:
2012-2015 White TRD Sport (2WD - this is a possible combo, yes? I think it is..)

What I REALLY want to find:
A dealer with the truck and/or the TRD S/C who is willing to bring the two together and roll it all into the financing. I know it has been done before...

I know the S/C is super scarce and discontinued now. But is it possible to still find one at a dealer somewhere? Even if the work isn't warrantied, I'd like to make this work somehow.

Can it be found? If not, what other options do I have? Would they allow me to finance the expense to install an aftermarket one? Probably a loooong shot...

    Thanks!

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

I saw the URD kits, I just don't think anybody will roll those into the financing which is why I think I need a to find a TRD to make it happen.

By 'good luck', do you mean they can't be found?

In your search, look for a Sport that has the "PreRunner" badge on it - that's how you'll know it's a 2WD.

As far as your TRD supercharger hopes, I think it will be very tough to (a) find one at a dealer, and (b) hope that dealer has a truck you want, and (c) will roll the 2 together into a financing package (especially on a used truck). That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, but IMO I would not plan on that being a likely outcome. Your best bet will probably be either finding a truck with a supercharger already on it (which you could then finance), or buying a supercharger secondhand, if it must be TRD.

Thanks man. I had a feeling this would be near impossible but I feel like finding one already put together in the trim levels I want would be just as hard...guess I will have to start calling around to dealers after all.

Edit: Thanks for the tip on knowing which is 2WD vs. 4WD too

Haven't taken many. Been waiting for my wheels to come in to install my coilovers and everything else. All I've done so far is get the updated headlights/taillights (in pic above), clear sidemarkers, blinker delete, full turboback exhaust, and found an original TRD steering wheel.

Thanks! She was a hard find. VIN matching, original hardtop 6sp car. Unofficial numbers say there were 9 made in this configuration, in 1994 in the baltic blue

Been asking around...Looking like it will be tough to make this work. I guess I will just have to search for the right one. I have time on my side luckily.

    That being said, WTB:

    - 2012-2015 White 2WD TRD Sport
    - TRD (or aftermarket) Supercharger
    - No lifts
    - 50K miles or less
    - Tastefully modded is okay but prefer as stock as possible
    - Must be okay with me getting it financed. I will not fall through/get denied, my credit and finances are stellar I just prefer to not shell out all the cash right now.

If you know anybody with this truck contact me please! I will make a real WTB thread too.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the input so far. Here's an update: my Silverado SS was just stolen out of my driveway last week.....so I'm in the market sooner than expected.

Can some people give me the scoop on the radio options for the 2012-2015s?

    Looks like there's
    - Basic level (no screen)
    - Touchscreen
    - Touchscreen with JBL speakers

Am I missing something? What's the Entune entail during these years? Any significant benefit to the touchscreen besides the backup camera? (I don't like or use them, ever) Are the JBL's worth it to seek out?

Test drove one with the JBL this weekend, but have nothing to compare it too...and we didn't really blast the radio to see it's performance. FWIW I haven't ever felt the need to upgrade my car's stereo systems. I was more than happy with the Bose system that came in the SS.

    Thanks in advance

Also - any other small pitfalls or features I should look out for? Typical areas of concern and/or damage? etc?
