I want to dump my exhaust behind the muffler before going over the axel. My son got me a Flowmaster 50 series muffler for Christmas. I would prefer to just cut and clamp it on myself. Anyone know what clamps and connectors I would need to accomplish this?

    Thanks

Won't you need a hanger welded to the muffler or turn-down pipe?

I might be better off just getting the parts and taking to a muffler shop to get it welded. I want to keep it simple and avoid the exhaust right behind the rear tire. I was curious if the tail pipe I found has a 2.25 inch inlet and the muffler has a 2.25 inch outlet, will those match up or would I need a 2.5" and clamp to join them? Also, is the stock exhaust 2.25"?

Painted grill and rear bumper, Removed all badges and stickers, Tint, OME lift TRD wheels and BFGs on order.
IMOP Take it to a muffler shop. They have an expander to make the pipes fit together. Then dump the exhaust out the side in front of the tire not down or it's going to have a droning sound. I will be doing this to mine next.

The hanger needs to go forward to aft.

i agree with the muffler shop idea. you can get it setup to be a clamp together do you can swap mufflers out later if you want.

dumping to the side might end up having it pointed at the front leaf spring mount. The rubber in the bushing might not like it too much. i have mine pointing down. it does sound different though.

Thinking of same muffler with shop install - sure would like a sound clip, and to know what the drone affect in the cab is like at highway speed.

I am working on the video.

It does drone a little, but not bad. It is the deepest sounding one I could find. Not harsh at all. Actually sounds more muffled after putting my Mobtown sliders, front skid and rear bumper on. Didn't expect that and can't really explain. I like it.

So, that's revved up to redline. I don't go above 3000 rpm very often, so it stays pretty low in daily driving.
