I did mines a while ago but I sold the tool that ecgs sells to remove it. I'm pretty sure it's doable without it but it'll be a pain in the ass.

I might end up just buying the tools to change out the needle bearing from ECGS. I wanna change it out when I do my 3" lift on my 3rd gen Tacoma just incase its starts to vibrate after install everything.

What you mean u joint tool? Yours isn't small screws holding 2 straps per side? Isn't that like an 8mm hex head? Or are you talking about the yoke?

I need to change my carrier bearing on my drive shaft, so I'm gonna change my universal joints since they are probably all the original with 200k plus miles. I know there is like a c clamp style press you can use to press them out and back in with

Afaik you don't need that kind. If your crosses are the same as most others, you remove the circlip and pop out the bearing caps, put on a new set of caps with bearings them grease after assembly.

Gotta pop them bitches out somehow...and while I don't mind using a socket and hammer to get the old ones out....definitely don't want to put the new ones in with a hammer :notsure:

The brass drift for knocking the old ones out, and sockets in a vice to put them back together....

    Some stuffz
Autozone has a bunch of tools for "free" rental. You pay for the part and then return it for full refund as part of their loan-a-tool program. Changed out all my ujoints with their big c-clamp bearing press kit. Also used their vacuum pump on my ac system after I changed out the compressor. Not sure if oreilly's has same thing

Mahalo'z Mike....I believe Oreillys has the same, will hit one of them up.....so I don't have to carry my driveshaft upstairs out on my lanai where my vice is :anonymous: be a lot easier to just do it in the bed of the truck
