Why I don't allow service departments to service my vehicle. Nobody cares about your truck as much as you do.

    12mm
    14mm
    19mm
    21mm
    24mm

    Missing anything?

    thanks good to know.
Any other size I'm missing that would be commonly used for trail repairs and general maintenance?

Probably going to keep a whole socket set thing (like the ones always on sale) in the truck. Stanley one I'll have has a bunch of sockets from 6mm-19mm, plus additional deep impact set I have 10mm-32mm.

Just need to pick up a set of wrenches to keep in the rig as well, just not sure if I need all the way up to a 24mm for them as well. Was thinking a set 7mm-19mm.

No way in hell is the Snap on set I got of a family friend that retired ever leaving the garage haha.

Never used to carry much for tools when I went out in the jeep since a friend of mine had a full set up for everyone, but I'll be doing more solo stuff so need to have my own. I was always set for first aid thats all.

Anybody have specs on torque for carrier bearing bracket, e.g., when adding spacers?

I just got some of the "Red and Tacky" variety of the Lucas grease from cantire this weekend. I did some searching around the forum and found it was recommended by several people. Meets the specs it looks like.
Was going to check my local Lordco next weekend for other options, and also get some diff fluid while I'm at it.

Yes sir! I saw 27 and 51, but I couldn't differentiate which is for the actual joint and which is for the bracket securing it to the frame.

    27 lb-ft bolts securing bearing to frame. Didn't see a 51.

    HINT:

With the vehicle unladen, adjust the center No. 2 support bearing assembly to keep the intervals, as shown.
In the same condition, check the center line in the axial direction. Adjust the bearing if necessary.

The center bearing center line and center bearing housing center line must be adjusted to within -1.0 to 1.0 mm (-0.0394 to 0.0394 in.) of each other in the vehicle's longitudinal direction when the vehicle is unladen.

    (i) Tighten the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    36 N·m {369 kgf·cm, 27ft·lbf}

What's the Manual Transmission interval and oil type? I'd also appreciate if you added brake fluid, clutch fluid, power steering fluid and coolant intervals/types.

If somebody can give me the info, I can update the OP pretty quick. It will be a little while before I can look it up myself.

Here you go. From the FSM and Toyota's Website
I could not locate a schedule for Tranny Fluid, and I added some info that wasn't asked for.
The last attachment is a pdf of the service schedule.

Re the 24MM socket for fill/drain plugs- best to get a 6 point- it fits the flats on plugs, without slipping, better than 12 point sockets.
Thanks for organizing thread- It really helps to compact useful info to front. Huge service to community!
Anyone know what/where to get U-joints with zerks to replace those with "new" non-zerk U-joints? Thx, J
