I bought a 2014 DCLB late May. It has the two sunglass holders and 2 push dome lights. Is this considered the overhead console? I ask as I would like to get some more info on a way to get a rear view mirror up higher. It currently has the mirror below what I believe to be the antenna in the windshield. I would be most interested to also have in addition to temperature and compass position, some way to have push button garage door opener built in.

My Tacoma is a TRD sport 4x4 if that helps.

Perhaps the garage door opener is called Gene Link, still learning. Sorry.

Any info and way to wire would be most appreciated! Doug

It sounds like you're looking for the mirror with Home Link in it. Possibly something like a GENK45AMB5. To raise the mirror, there was a guy on here selling relocation brackets. I believe it was IAmMrYo.

You may already be aware, but some people are not...

There are two pivot points on the mirror. One just tilts the mirror portion and it directly on the back of the mirror. This is what you're moving if you just reach up and grab/tilt the mirror.

The other is on the windshield glass and it lets you raise the mirror quite high, actually. I do realize that still might not be high enough for your liking. But check it out if you haven't already. I didn't find that second pivot point until I owned the truck for about a year and all along wished my mirror was higher. I was thrilled to discover it could go higher!

If you want a homelink mirror with garage door opener... contact Bob's Automotive Mirrors. He used to be active on the forum. Not sure if he still is. He also has an eBay store. Top notch customer service. Call or send him and email and he'll hook you up. Very fair with pricing and he's got new and used mirrors (in new condition) that come in a variety of configurations and light colors.

I have one of the brackets from @ImMrYo and I love it. It drove me nuts before with how low it sat. I was always ducking to see people at 4-Way stops. Now I am going to have to look into one of @RJP869 Bob's mirrors.
