Have a 2015 Tacoma: put a 3" and 1" lift with 285 tires. Loss about 3 miles to the gallon so I installed a K & n cold air take charger. Has anybody experience better gas mileage or horsepower? I notice a little horsepower but so far no better gas mileage.

Sorry buddy but nothing is going to give your truck better gas mileage with 285s. K&n filters are a gimmick on street vehicles (opinion). Your truck already had "cold air" intake. Maybe add a few hp on a race car or street bike. Also if you don't keep them clean they will do more damage then good (also opinion).

The general consensus regarding cold air intakes is that they do nothing but make more noise.

On my Yamaha Venture the K&N made significant difference but on the Tacoma, not so much.

you did two things OP with the K and n "cold" air intake...

    1. suck WARM air in from the engine bay as its not a sealed system like the original air intake that pulls from the wheel well.

    2. filter the air less than stock allowing more dirt etc get in the motor.

go back to stock n return the K n N.

To add, if the thing isn't installed correctly the intake tube will vibrate against the side of the heat shield making a super annoying racket...

There was one on my truck when I bought it. Took it off a month ago and replaced with a stock airbox that another TW member generously sold me. Couldn't be happier since.
