So I have been having this clunking noise that was coming from the front of my taco that started sometime after my lift (toytec). I also installed Mobtown sliders around the same time as the lift. Anyways... It sounded like something was loose and would clunk going over speedbumps and things like that. I checked everything with suspension, front end, sliders, to see if anything was loose but nothing. Also checked body mounts as i heard that could be the cause. They all seemed fine. Well the other day i was under the truck checking things out and for some reason i looked at the Mobtown slider bolts that go into the enclosed part of the frame. I reached my hand in there and for some reason decided to yank on the little metal bars that are used that have the nut attached to them that go inside the enclosed part of the frame. When i yanked on them they moved around a bit and clanked. I thought... humm, i wonder if this is causing the sounds im hearing. So i went to the hardware store and got some foam and shoved it in there so the metal parts we tight and could not move around. Low and behold, it fixed my clunking sounds i was hearing! I spent so much time trying to figure out where the damn sounds where coming from and what was wrong. Glad i got it figured out. So if any of you have a clunking sound and you have @Mobtown Offroad sliders than check those metal bars that get inserted into the enclosed part of the frame!

I'm not going to lie, this post did not turn out as I thought it would. Nice to see someone do a little troubleshooting and offering a possible solution to their own problem, instead of posting a thread shitting on a product and vendor without contacting the vendor first to see if they have a fix.

Thanks for listening. I didn't think it was the sliders, but exploring all options before I drop it off.

Haven't heard this one before. The "nut on a handle" is used for a few different slider vendors. Typically when I do installs, I don't hold the handle while I'm tightening it. I just let it ride up/down against the frame, effectively wedging it. I'm not sure if that would help, just surprised to hear about this. Many other can chime in. If it's a persistent issue, we can look into a design modification.

Nice work on the problem solving, OP.

Yeah i did the same when installing. they had "play" side to side not up and down so they were somehow banging into each other. The one on the driver side was also slightly hitting a stock part that is attached to the frame. I dont think there is any need to design change, just maybe a note that if you hear clunking it may be from those "nut on handle" things banging around. I just wrapped some of this stuff around the long handle part and problem solved! so glad it wasnt something else wrong with the truck ha

I think I'm a bit confused. They were banging into each other? Currently there is only 1 per side. It's been quite awhile since we had two per side.

Im pretty sure there were 2 per side. I got my sliders early on. They were either banging into eachother or banging against the frame

Yup, that would make sense. Thanks for the update. I hope you still like your sliders, even with a little foam attached. Any chance you could rotate the handled nuts away from each other?

LOVE my sliders! I don't give an F about the foam, as long as that sound is gone. I could probably move them away from eachother but i still think they would bang against the frame or something. The handle is pretty long and you can push i around pretty easily. Seems like maybe im the only one with this issue so far.

OP, how much do you think the sliders weigh? Did you notice any sag in the suspension after installation of the sliders?

They weigh maybe 90 lbs? Didn't notice any sag or anything, although I had them on before the lift
