Thanks again and I completely understand your view and appreciate your take on it.
I don't take a thing personally on a forum with people I do not know - call it how YOU see it. Call your dealer ask em to run residuals on 4x2 vs 4x4 , tally the up front cost plus tax etc and do the same for both . Then hop on here and give me your results . I'll give you a fair shot . I'm in the east bay of California land of the commuters . Numbers change residuals change and not every guy with a case of beer wrenches on his own car. Don't use yourself in an equation when generally dealers make most money off people who either are lazy or don't have time to shop or DIY through service departments hence adding back end costs.

You'll see Our numbers are so close that's it not worth a debate , but to try and justify it with your own version and handy work doesn't prove anything , to me .

I ran scenarios on the fleet managers desk and could have bought either truck . End results were my choice not for the gas factors or residuals , they were dead set on my personal needs .

Like I said and I'll say it again , 4x4 will not earn you MORE money but will sell faster.
    Ask your dealer .

Very very very wrong. Venture outside the state of California and you'll see how wrong you are my friend. The rest is like running circles, again you're the one who tried to point out maintenance costs with no idea of the true cost of maintaining 2wd over 4wd (admitted just now by yourself) and your also the one who tried to pull the mpg card which is a 1 mpg difference between the two, hardly a cost advantage even long term. Again whatever works for you but you are still wrong on the subject.

P.S. I also work at a major auto auction once a week and see this all the time. Dealer will spin numbers all day long to sell you whatever.

P.S. Not sure if this is mentioned but this is posted in the wrong section should be under builds section not the 3rd gen discussion section.

For the sake of argument , it's all good I'll agree to disagree , my experiences have shown me different and I respect your take and absorb your points. You made some good One that I'll look into.

Exactly, agree to disagree, points made, no big deal. Too many people take things wayyyy to personal here sometimes. I still think his truck looks great 2 or 4wd lol.
