Depends on how the winter hits. They'll be things to hit in Colorado for sure, but many of the higher-elevation passes and such will be closed or impassable.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You can always go down through Northern AZ to the Grand Canyon.

Thanks guys. I've been to the Grand Canyon before so not much interest in checking it out vs. Colorado. I have never been in Colorado before so just hitting some trails with you locals plus some of our ex local transplants that I used to wheel with would be awesome to me.

I was on the Alpine loop in the middle of September this year and it was snowing. Not much was laying and what did probably melted the next day. I think Black Bear Pass was closed for a week in the beginning of September but then opened back up. This is a trail I'd like to do before it gets shut down. Kinda got to play it by ear at that time of year.

These are my local trails. It all depends on the year and the weather.

This was a Poughkeepsie Gulch run a few years ago on Sept 23rd.

    Green leaves at the bottom.

    Whiteout at the top.

That time of year it may melt the next day, or it may form an ice sheet that gets covered by the next snow.

The grand valley also has some more rock crawling options.

Dry Creek in Montrose has some good trails, but they are higher end trails and it's not high country pretty.

Lots of things might be changing for me between now and October, but i'll tune in for the details and try to catch anyone traveling through OKC. Been wanting to do MOAB, but was in Alaska for the last 4 years, lol. Truck isn't completely stock, but it's close though I've heard there are at least a few trails that aren't too crazy.

I think my wife would love to shoot some pictures out there during that time of year.

Moab is a very good area for mild trails/builds. The traction is impressive and helpful. Sliders and some skids are good. Upgraded/stronger tires are also.

I know we're going to try and to white rim - hopefully not in one day. I did it last time I was out there and its a hell of a ride. Realistically you could to it in a civic with bald tires and missing a cylinder... except for the 180' silt bed. It was a great experience and I'd happily do it again. I'm just hoping to have another rig built by then. Last time I had one built in 4 months... I think i can do it in 9 this time.

Try and get two nights on it, that'll give you plenty of time to explore hiking trails and views.

Since it's all permit, you can go in the middle of Easter Jeep Safari, and only see a few vehicles, some bikers and Moto guys the whole time you're on it.
