    Help please.
I was just driving and noticed my speedo needle at zero and a Check Engine Light. Also turn signals don't work.
    Any idea WTH?

What's the code? Any other lights? Possibly fuses blown maybe?

    OK..great responses so far.
I just got the codes read and got:
    P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor A

I read the thread linked above and didn't have all the craziness, and yes, the ODO does work.
Anyone else want to weigh in?
IS the speed sensor on the diff?
6sp Manual, if it makes any difference.
    Thanks

Is the pic above for a 4.0L 6sp manual?
Anybody have a picture of the part?

Looks like an easy swap if it is the problem. One 12mm or 13mm bolt holding it in.

Can you still drive it? I wouldn't stress too much. Probably would be okay to drive home. Just guess your speed based on rpm. Any one have any knowledge of damage that could be caused from this sensor not working?

Also I believe that is the transfer case in the picture.

    Thanks for checking.
I did drive it to O'Reilly's for the codes download and home.
Seems to be in limp mode, reduced power.
    Tail lights do work.
I can use hand signals for directionals(anybody even learn that anymore in driver ed?)

Is your gas needle moving all around, when you stop and go?

Have you had any wiring done, or modding, which could have caused an issue?

    Is the plug fully seated?

    Are the wires cut?

I would disconnect the battery and pump the brakes a few times. Then disconnect the speed sensor and make sure there is no crud in the connector itself on both ends. Plug it back in then reconnect the battery. That's what I would do

    Thanks for all the help.
I replaced the speed sensor and got no results.
I checked the IG1 fuse, based on other threads, and got my panel and turn signals to work....for about 10 seconds and the replacement fuse blew.
    Any ideas from here?
Who has replaced their own alternator?
How big of a job is that?

Does your truck start fine? If the battery is good and strong the truck should be able to run all the electronics on it.
I had similar symptoms you are describing in my Mazda when the alternator went out. The car ran on the battery alone for several miles but when the batery ran out of juice all the electronics went haywire. The auto parts store should be able to check your battery and alternator. Sounds like you have a short somewhere. Maybe a pinched wire?

Just did a little research and it got me thinking. Make sure your blinker bulbs are okay. That the filaments are not broken, melted or fused together.

Definitely get it check at the auto parts store. Here are all the circuits I can find that are tired directly to the IGN1 fuse.

    Which fuse is specifically blowing?

Did you have your defrost on and were you rapidly accelerating or increasing RPM's suddenly when the fuse blew?
