My driver side CV boots has slid off the ends but there aren't any visible tears or rips.

Is it possible to just regrease it and hose clamp the ends back on? Or would I have to take the axle out and go from there?

Haven't dealt with it myself but I did read through this link and found lots of info and experiences with folks trying to get the boot ends to stay in place. Might be worth checking out. I know you're not blowing boots, but the info on reseating the boots should be pertinent.

Any other input? I'm hoping to get a definitive answer tonight so I can use 4wd tomorrow.

I'm not trying to pester, I remember reading somewhere about guys (and/or gals) having a hard time getting/keeping the boot seat position on the axle and the inside if the boot where it would seat against the axle PERFECTLY clean while clamping down and thus the boot will never for that seal with the axle. Then it slides back. If you can do that without removing the axle then you should be okay. It's just I don't think that's a very feasible thing to expect of anyone, not just you. But I hope I'm wrong :D, that way if/when I have to deal with it, it'd be an easier fix.

Thinking about what you said though, you could prolly get away with stuffing it with grease and clamping it for a day of wheeling? Maybe someone else has tried that and can chime in. I think you could get away with that though. If you do try that, obviously you'd want to take a peek at it throughout the day. Something to not screw up the plans, it would be temporary, so as long as you address it soon after.

Yes you can. I actually just used hose clamps and got them on real tight now.

Clamp broke off and i didnt loose much grease so i didnt actually add any but yea i cleaned off the surface the boot went on and hose clamped it. At same time i cut outer clamp off and pulled the boot out a bit simulating the boot slide mod and used a hose clamp there (think it was monte i got idea from). Been over a year and the boot hasnt moved so im gona call it a success. Im also at 3" of lift so thats not helping either.

Nice man, was hoping to hear that. Did you use a normal worm gear style clamp?
