    Read through this.

It'll give you an idea of the different lift options and the pros/cons of all. And depending on your budget and needs, go from there. Then research the forum. Most common setups are old man emu, or bilstein, or combos of each. Along with aal or new leaf packs for rear. Those are basics. If you're looking for pure asthetics and extremely budget friendly, spacers and blocks/shackles to lift keeping your stock shocks and leafs.

Thanks for the quick reply and the link! I read through it, but I still don't know which route to go with for what I am looking for. If I am being honest, my tacoma is going to be a pavement princess 98% of the time. I will be driving on gravel every now and then but thats about it. I want to get a 3" lift, but like I said, its pretty much all about the looks. I don't need a performance kit, or something for crawling. I just want to avoid making my vehicle stiff. What do you recommend?

Well, anything at 3" is gonna be fairly stiff. Ome coils are your best bet. I'd stick With 2.5". With nitrocharger shocks all around. 3" is just too much. I didn't believe it, but it is. My Eibachs have settled and are a lil smoother. And hopefully more so with my plate bumper.. That'll be a fairly pricy lift going ome. But it'll be smooth. If your leafs are ok, you can do an aal or shackles. Aal if you haul anything. Shackles if not. Aal will make it a lil stiffer. Shackles will be smoother. New leafs, idk. Depends what you want. My dakars are nice.
You're looking at about a grand tops for all that I think. Maybe less. More if you get new leafs and bushings and all the little extras.

From the way your wording your response I feel like you want us to tell you go get some spacers and you'll be fine! Go get a pare of 5100's and use your stock springs set it to the highest setting and install on your truck will look good and not to stiff ITS JUST A 1st GEN TACOMA DONT OVER THINK IT or under fund it you'll be very sorry in the long run

If you don't know what you want, how are we supposed to help you!?

There are FAR to many questions you need to answer for yourself before you get started.

First and most importantly, decide on a budget. Then figure out if you want a "show" or a "go" lift.

Then re-read the lift thread linked above. Then, if you still have questions, there are people here who can help, but we ain't gunna spoon feed you.
