Can someone with a TRD Pro look at their wheels for me?

I recently got K02s put on my TRD Pro by Discount Tire.
After the tires were mounted they pulled the truck out for me to inspect it. I noticed these scratches going around all four wheels. There's also two spots on each wheel (about the 12 o'clock position in the pic) where the prybar went in and scratched the wheel. I brought all this up with the sales rep and he agreed to have a mobile detailer come to my house to inspect the wheels to see what can be done. My suspicion is the wheels are powder coated so they're toast. There's no "polishing" powder coat. The sales rep said the detailer has to inspect them first then decide if polishing or refinishing is possible and if not the wheels would possibly be replaced.
I've only had this truck for three weeks so obviously I'm super pissed.
I can't imagine a truck would leave the Toyota plant with scratches on it like this but I was wondering if anyone could look at their wheels for me because I'm curious to see if the scratches were 100% Discount's fault.
And does anyone know for certain these wheels are powder coated?
I've washed my truck about three times since I've owned it and never noticed the scratches before. Honestly they're just light surface scratches and I kinda glossed over my wheels when I washed the truck so maybe some of them were there before?
They're a little hard to see under natural light like when I normally washed it in my driveway but if you check the wheels with a flashlight they look like someone took a Brillo pad to them.

No question about it, 100% the fault of the installer. Probably some damn teenager that's never done a proper tire change before. This is why reputable shops will do a walk-around with you and inspect the wheels before doing any work, so that there are no surprises about who damaged what.

There is no chance in hell a new vehicle will come with scratches of any sort. This is Discount Tire's fault, plain and simple. No grey areas here.

Always go to the shop that has a "touch less" tire mounting system.

    Too few to list.
Most likely DT's fault. I purchased some wheels from them and they installed it perfectly. Brought it back for the 5k rotation and they scratched and chipped the paint around the lug nuts and center cap.

If the wheels get replaced I'll have to call around to find a place that does "touchless" tire mounting. Or take them to the dealership although I don't know if they'll mount tires on wheels I show up with.
What a ##cking nightmare. Everytime I ever have anything done to my vehicles there's always an issue whither it's tint, tires etc.
Just teenage dipsh#ts working in the garage who are probably a little jealous of the nice new truck so they do their best to not give two sh#ts about what kind of job they do.
Discount had the best price, the dealership quoted me literally double what Discount quoted me on and I figured they install hundreds of tires everyday so they must know what they're doing. Guess not.

Time to start throwing some wheel kicks upside their head. Demand new wheels, no question about it.

Does anyone know if these wheels are powder coated or painted?
If they're painted there might be hope of them getting polished.

Limited wheels, extra rope hooks in bed.
Probably trained those kids in about an hour to mount tires and told them faster is better....$9.00 bucks an hour.

Just like many oil change locations.....We all know horror stories about those.

    I'd push for new wheels!

There may be hope for the wheels. I tested a small area with some fine polish I hand applied followed with some carnauba wax and the surface smoothed up. These wheels might be painted.
If they take the wheels off and remove the tires and hit them with a machine polisher there might be a chance the wheels will be back to normal. I'd get a free wheel polish and wax outta the deal too.

Make sure it's done right if that's the case. If the scratches are just filled in with wax they'll re appear every time you wash the wheels. The scratches need to be properly cut with compound and buffed out. Just like the paint on the body.

Only a few of the scratches I can feel with my fingernail. The rest are just on the surface of hopefully what's clearcoat on there. I'm just doing my best to avoid what I have no doubt is going to be an uphill battle to get new wheels from Discount that may take weeks to arrive from Toyota.
I've been detailing cars and polishing paint for a number of years now so if it's really paint I have hope. I think the wheels might be a little too glossy to be powder coated.
As long as the wheels pass the "flashlight test" I'll be happy. Like I mentioned earlier under natural light a lot of paint imperfections aren't visible but if you hit your truck or wheels with an LED light or fluorescent lighting like in the parking lot of a grocery store you'll see all kinds of swirls. The small area I worked on was smooth under the light after a little polishing but the deep scratches need to get hit with a machine.

I had a local tire shop replace a 16" wheel on my wife's z24 at the time (many years ago). If they take blame for the damage they pretty much have to replace the wheel. My damage was far far worse though. In the end I hope they fix the issue, however that might be.

If it is powder coat, I am getting my 05 wheels done for $100 each

That's good to know. They don't seem to have that "orange peel" surface of powder coat.

Yeah but unfortunately it looks like the entire paint is chipped off on those areas so not even touch up would help unless you want a "half fix" kinda job. Those wheels are toast when it comes to paint, nothing better than the factory paint job really. I'd definitely be requesting/demanding new wheels. That really sucks :(

Luckily everything is just fine scratches, no chips. Kinda hard to see from the pic. Only a few scratches you can even feel with your fingernail.
If any kind of paint is involved I'll be demanding replacements.

On the flip side I know it's aggravating but they are black wheels and they'll scratch easily anyways...Especially if you go four-wheeling.

    Your call...

I had tires put on my FJ at a tire discounter. They scratched my rim. it was on a machine that scratched it all the way around. They said the same thing about polishing but ended just replacing the rim. The manager worked with me but it was a slow process.
