2014 DCSB sold (2020 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab)
I actually got a really good deal on my 14 DCSB 4x4 V6. They goofed up on their internet offer and i traded a car in and walked away with it for 21,000. The sales manager said they had never sold one for that price.

During the negotiations, i asked for them to match my credit unions interest rate (which was 1.3% ) and they had come down to 1.8%. And the salesman said "are you really going to let a half of a percent stop you from buying this truck, i said nope, your going to let a half of a percent stop you from selling it!!"

You have to stand your ground with them, i understand the sales guy has a family to feed, but so do I. The more i pay each month, is the less i have each month.

Yeah I bought my 09 in November of '15 with 27k miles on it. They were asking $26K which I thought was a good deal but then again 2009 wasn't exactly yesterday anymore but 27K miles is super low! I got them to take $500 off and absorb all the other fees and whatnot so I got it for $25,500 out the door. not bad i guess. He also had the same thing to say about how they can't drop too low and how amazing the resale is on these trucks blah blah blah.

this is true, I have bought 3 Toyotas new cause I could Mod it the way I wanted not inheriting someone elses project, but sometimes Economical issues come in to play and having 11 grand for other life issues takes predominance. the truck I have now was used and clean without any mods from the previous owner and I saved 5-6 grand or more over buying a new one, so its working out for me this is the first second hand Toyota truck I ever owned for economical reasons I bought it used.

I bought my truck in NH back in 2011, it is a 2006 TRD Sport DCSB had 58k miles on it and was certified pre owned, was listed for $22.5 talked them down to $19.5, if I am not mistaken, and they gave me $7500 for my trade in, looking back on it I feel I stole the truck from them.

I used car gurus and saw Tacomas were way cheaper in Phoenix than Las Vegas. So make sure you check inventories of other places that are easily accessible. 2/3 of my last cars came from AZ.
    Car one
$40 flight and 5 hours of driving and getting to know the car plus a savings of 5k.
    Tacoma
Drove in and traded in my car at a dealership in Phoenix. They said they don't negotiate price, it had everything I wanted. Told then to get it ready, went to pick it up out the door in 1 hour. 4k less than Las Vegas.

NorCal is crazy Tacoma state. It took me six months to find a decent one and dealers here know what they have so they don't budge much. It wasn't because I was picky. Some were outrageously priced or was on the lot for max of 3 days. I wanted a fully loaded double cab TRD off-road.

I almost resorted to the third gen but just happened to see a fully loaded 2012 on the lot in the back. It was listed for 1 day. There were 3 people coming to look at it per sales rep. Test drove it and even though ultra high mileage it was really clean. By the time I sat down to negiotiate there were six people looking at it.

2012 fully loaded double cab trd off-road short bed, 85k miles, full service history, no accidents, 23k OTD. I still can't believe I paid that much for a high mileage truck.

that truck is good for over another 125k miles easy if properly cared for, so you saved over $20,000 dollars for not buying a 3rd GEN , and bought the truck you wanted, sounds like you did very good:thumbsup:

True. I'm in the process of doing preventive maintenance. Already replaced wheel bearings and brakes. Not that it needed it but I like to be way ahead.

I set some radio stations. That's about it so far.
I was super picky. I was replacing a 2010 that got totaled after being rear ended. I really liked the Tacoma I had, so finding a manual transmission access cab with the TRD Off Road package was tough. Everyone else wants 4 doors. I want a 6' bed. The 2015 that I eventually bought popped up for sale at a local dealer. It was $8000 more than the last Tacoma cost, but it had significantly fewer miles (28k). Because of my stellar credit, and the newer year, I was able to finance the truck at a slightly lower interest rate. Also, the negotiations with the insurance company tipped in my favor, so I bought the truck and it's only costing me an extra $50 per month. If you are buying a popular style or set of options, you can shop a little more, but if you're like me and you know EXACTLY what you want... be prepared to buy when you see it.

Also.... I did a better job negotiating the previous truck because I had the benefit of another truck exactly like it, for sale locally by a private seller. I used the pricing from "Truecar" to determine what other people were paying in my area and what they considered a "great deal." That was the price I showed to the dealer and told him it would be what I wanted to pay or I would go look at that private seller truck. I hadn't seen the other truck at that point, so I couldn't really compare. I was a little nervous for that reason, but I knew if I walked off the lot, the deal would go away. The dealer accepted that price and I drove away extremely happy. I loved that Magnetic Gray truck. But this 2015 has some nice improvements and the low miles are a definite perk.

....and another thing. When you buy from a Toyota dealer, you stand a pretty good chance of getting a decent vehicle. The dealers get first crack at the trade-ins they take in. Both trucks I purchased at Toyota dealers. They were both bought and serviced there. Shopping for the second truck, I saw a lot of Tacomas at other dealers and used car lots. The Toyota dealers definitely had the cream of the crop.

    Too few to list.
Got my 2015 DC 4x4 TRD OR with navi for $32K. It had 12k miles. Listed at $32,995. It was real tough for them to come down on price. My offer was $31K and was ready to walk until they finally said $32K with 100K warranty. Two weeks later, I cancelled the warranty and got $900 back from the warranty company. Total paid was $31,100.

you're not going to find a screaming deal on a taco anywhere.. i bought my 2015 dclb w/ 8 miles on it for 32,000 at toyota of seattle. these are not the kinds of trucks that sit around on dealer lots! if i didn't grab it the next guy would have bought it 5 mins later..

remember, these trucks don't break! i drove away with the piece of mind that i'm not going to see a single warning light on the dash for a long time! if you want to "get over" on a dealer or salesman go buy a used range rover or audi (for 1 tenth of what it cost brand new) and have fun throwing $1,500 at it every 6 months! cars like that cost 60-80 grand brand new.. 2 years later they're worth 10 grand because they leak oil, leak coolant, the sunroof leaks and rots the carpets, the check engine light comes on every 2 weeks, etc..
