Ran into a problem this weekend while attempting to do the tundra 13wl brake conversion. I can't stop the leaking from the banjo bolt going to the caliper. I changed out 4 crush washers same thing and on 3 different calipers. The braided lines are from wheelers off road with the banjo. I switched to the stock Tacoma calipers and stayed with the braided lines, no leak..I'm not sure what's going on.

Are the washers the copper ones that come with the brake lines? I have copper washers on both sides of the banjo bolt going into the 13WL Calipers and no leaks. I was going to say contact @YotaDan since that's where you purchased them from. If it didn't leak hooked up to your Tacoma calipers, most likely something is wrong w/ your aftermarket Tundra calipers. Also to add, my Calipers were off of a 06 Tundra Limited 4x4 and I used the same Wheeler's lines as you. Went right together.

Its a hit and miss with remaned calipers once I went through 4 calipers before I could get one not to leak. The surface where the washer sits needs to perfectly smooth so it can seal

thread the bolt in without the washers. could be bottoming out inside the caliper and not actually tightening down on the washers. If youve tried 3 separate tundra calipers i would suspect that first.

I think it has to do with the thickness of the banjo fitting on the flex hose not being thick enough, The bolt bottoms out in the caliper before it puts enough pressure on the copper gaskets. I went through several gaskets before i found one thick enough to seal up. Luckily we have a bin full of them at the shop.

Drill out the stock banjo bolt, no bottoming out problems. A lot of times leaks are to blame due to the rough casting on reman'd calipers. I had a slight leak at first when using stock banjo bolts but new copper washers fixed it.

The banjo bolts that come with the Wheelers lines are shorter than the stock ones, so they should not bottom out. Thats what I used. No leaks.

Also, the FSM calls for 22 ft-lb of torque on those banjo bolts, to make sure the copper deforms to the surfaces and makes a good seal. If you think you are bottoming out, you could double up on the copper crush-washers (ie - use 4 instead of 2 on each side.

I used the banjo from wheelers and the washers they came with. Still leaked. Went to Napa and purchased new bolts and washers both leaked. Went and bought another caliper from O'Reilly same thing. I gave up. Everything back to stock except the braided lines from wheelers until I can find a solution.

I used the wheelers banjo that should've worked.

I used OEM calipers from a 2006 Tundra. Maybe the surface around the brake line port is rougher for aftermarket calipers.

Ill try the 2 washer method and maybe some filing. Will double washer affect anything? Last resort I'll purchase the lce hard brake line kit and do away with the banjo. Thanks guys.

I dont know much about the tundra brakes myself but shouldn't you be using a flared hardline instead of the banjo with those particular calipers?

That's what you're "supposed" to use, but people rarely do.
