I don't get how you guys are getting that good of mpgs. I get 17mpg with and without the cap, no lift and stock tires.

I get around 18.5-19 with the cap and I'm lifted with 32in tires. I don't drive fast though, that's what autox is for.

honestly my mileage got better on the freeway trips after getting a cap. let me take that back, after getting a lift, mileage took a slight hit. after the cap, it got better on the freeway and stayed the same on the street\city driving.

I'm now on my third SnugTop shell. After buying my 2011 Tacoma AC PreRunner last July I found a 2009 color-matched SnugTop Xtra Vision w/tinted windows and front flip down slider at a camper dealer in Los Angeles for $1,100. (New they are $2,500 w/out options.) It cost me $60 in gas to drive down and back from the central CA coast.
I needed to take it to the local SnugTop dealer to have the wiring hooked up (center brake light and 12 volt interior light, and also to have the center latch replaced.) It would lock but not unlock. Kind of a problem. Luckily, I had left one of the side windows open so I could reach the emergency release.DSC_9265.jpg DSC_9263.jpg

I have a '15 and got a Leer Lined canopy with it.....so I bought these wanting some light...

Since the conopy is lined I picked up some 1 inch velcro and pressed it with the wires centered under it along the left and right sides of the roof. the velcro sticks, hides and secures the wires. I also used some to secure the lights in place. You cant see the wires at all as the black velcro blends in with the dark liner. I ran the wires into the canopys disconnect plug and wired in place. the bed lights have a 15 minute timer if i dont turn them off....the bed is bright as day..
I also put some nylok nuts on to make sure the canopy clamp nuts couldnt back off.
I used to drive Truck so I use my old 5th wheel puller to reach the things i cant. "T" handled 4 foot rod with a Hook on the end. will never have another truck without a canopy.

I picked up this gem of a Craigslist find last weekend. ARE MX Series with carpeted ceiling, fold down front slider, color matched. Well worth a quick run to N.C.

now you just need taller front crossbars so that they'll all be the same height!

    Ha

The dealer told me the new Yakima bars just came in when it shipped. I might be the first with the new aerodynamic bars.
