Makes sense. Didn't think it would actually fit between the castle nut and the spindle housing.

 

Any plans on a dual swing out?

 

Question for the Hi-Clearness bumper guys. I haven't towed much, but will be doing a lot in the next few weeks. I'm running Dakar Heavy's and 285" BFG - Whats the best Drop Ball size..? I will be towing a small/med size trailer with office furniture. I don't really know how to measure the height for the trailer to sit leveled.

 

You're going to be in the 8"-10" drop range. You can measure the trailer as it sits unconnected to the truck, check the ideal ball height and then check the truck, the drop shroud be the difference in the two, take into account a slight sag from the tongue weight. Its difficult to get the exact perfect height, close is fine though.

 

No solid plans yet, were going that route on the new 4Runner rears, we may bring that over to the Tacoma side in the future.

Any sales coming up on Hi-clearance rear bumpers? I screwed up and missed the one around Christmas.

 

Just found some damage on my rear fender behind my driver side tire. This justifies a HC bumper install, wasn't sure i wanted to cut but now i found damage and might as well. I assume you could purchase the swing out later and add on no problem?

 

Any new ETA on the 3rd Gen Taco HC with rear swing out? @Pelfreybilt @mh.meier @Socalduckslayer Can I be put on a waiting list? LOL!

 

Not sure if you got this question answered elsewhere but you'll need the swingout bumper otherwise you will not have a spindle. I'm sure you could ask to buy one without the gate, but the pricing will probably be different because your getting a bumper with a spindle. Personally I'd just buy one with the gate even if it means having to wait and save more

 

Soonish, the crappy bubble in the tail gate is screwing all of our awesome designs over.

Thats what i was thinking, buy one with a gate and take the gate off until i need or want it on.

 

Looking into switching my order from a standard swingout to high clearance swingout at literally the last second (would have shipped in 2 weeks). Any reasons not to?!

 

If you don't feel comfortable into the rear fenders of your new truck.

 

Do it, you'll be happier. Only reason not to is if you have plans to part put the truck in the near future

You made the right call. I ordered the standard rear bumper and have been rocking it for a while. It's been great to me and I get loads of compliments but I still wish I would have ordered the high clearance.

Which is why I placed an order last week.
