Did you pay with a credit card? If so call the credit card company and dispute the charge--it is a violation of the Fair Credit Billing Act for them to charge your card for anything that has not been shipped...

LOL you guys are too funny!

I paid via Paypal so I could certainly dispute it. I will give them a chance to respond. If FedEx did indeed lose the other side then the seller has to work with them to rectify. Unfortunately as the person receiving they only do so much.

Going to this link it has a drop down selection for "quantity". Yet the titles says "sliders". Which would imply the sale would include both of the sliders. But if you increased the quantity to two (2), you'd theoretically have four (4) sliders. Who needs that many sliders in one order? :notsure:

    Strange.....o_O

Yeah it is confusing. Considering the original price of $340 being $40 off SOS's site price I'm inclined to believe this is a pair. Again, no indication otherwise and no option to say what side.

I mean, when they make a batch of these it HAS to be both sides. They wouldn't make 10 rights and then make 10 lefts would they? Inventory management would get outrageous. If you got thrown off by one, you'd spend extra time trying to catch up to balance your inventory.

Even though this website is distributing them, they should stock them in pairs; which would thus ship them in pairs.

Then again, a full voicemail seems like their time management is awful, so this explains why they would send one slider.

Well I just ran out to the garage and weighed the one I have. 57lbs on the head and the FedEx tag says 114 lbs. I'm calling FedEx back and not taking no for an answer. We'll see what happens. I do have the manager contact for the Green Bay, WI hub that it shipped out of so worse case I am calling him too.

    Well, now it makes sense!

For what it's worth I had a similar problem with FedEx this week.

I had a ordered a bumper in a group buy and I put my address in as "44" instead of "43". I called to correct it with FedEx and they obliged me. Next day it said "order cancelled, shipping back to seller".

I was like WTF? Not to mention where it showed being at their distribution center was 15 minutes from where I work, (They could drop it off at a FedEx store nearby and I'd pick it up). They were going to send it all the way back to Texas, (I live in GA), because of ONE number and told me ONLY the shipper can change the address. Which is fair enough, but ONE number, c'mon, the rest of the address was correct down to every letter and zipcode.

The vendor called me almost immediately after I sent him a message about it. He called them and disputed the issue as well, told me they should get it here by today....we'll see.

Well the first FedEx person this morning insisted it was one item. The next person was much more helpful and opened a case and sent a message to the Green Bay hub to see if they had the other piece.

On the ECG side communication is a major failure. Also, there appears to be no tape, zip ties, or any other method used to attach what would be 2 pieces together so I'm still confused. I'm just hoping that FedEx screwed up but based upon the very slow response from ECG I would certainly avoid them for anything in the future.

FedEx has been good to me for the most part over the years. I had an address issue once and I was notified via email and called and corrected them and had the package the next day. Either way not blaming anyone at this point.

I actually did. One of the managers in Green Bay called me and gave me her personal cell phone to text the pictures of the item to. She is now checking all around the local hub and checking with the drivers on the route to see if they can locate it. They really are not sure if it was all together or not either. They agree with me though in regard to the weight that it must have been shipped together but generally they would have assigned two tracking numbers due to the item size. Still waiting to hear back from them.

Well still no luck via FedEx but I figure give them at least a solid day or two to try to locate it assuming it did ship together. Still no response from ECG.

Well I talked to FedEx again today and they have checked every hub from here to North Carolina that the item(s) would have went through and no on can find anything. They firmly believe the shipper sent just one item and if I cannot get ahold of them to contact Paypal and open a fraud case. They are also going to try to get in touch with the business as well. At this point I'm going to keep trying to get ahold of them before I open any type of fraud case with the thought that they are just practicing really poor business because I really would like to just get my parts and be done with it.

Worst communication ever from Alec. My parts were so delayed from the promised ship date I had to call my bank to dispute the charge.

OP, I had a somewhat related issue although I was covered the whole time. I had two packages that were coming to me which were a left and right side deavers springs. They lost the left side and amazingly, it was never recovered. The weight and everything was stated on the package so there was no mistake that something was taken out, granted they were shipped independently at the same time. When the company found out about the lost spring, they had insurance that comes with their shipping account and had a second one shipped out to me. UPS paid them back in full as this was their mistake. When your slider came, was it in any sort of package that you could discern that it was tampered with or was it just in bubble wrap?

Either way, I would assume either they might of weighed the package before sending and then removed a slider? If not, then Fed Ex lost it and would reimburse the shop which would be no issue on their end if it is lost. I feel like Fed EX would have more notes on something like this if they were indeed together because that would take some time to rip one of them out if they were bundled together.

I think you are getting bullshitted by the shop, I would give them until close of business Friday to get in touch with you. If not, file a dispute before enjoying your weekend. If a paypal dispute doesn't get their attention, nothing will...which is fine cause then you get a free slider out of the deal!

    Hey Coot,

I agree with your overall assessment. There was absolutely no packaging of any sort so I cannot confirm if it was part of a box or anything. FedEx asked the same thing and I initially stated there was no packaging so I was not sure. Regardless why ship at the full weight and then send only one item? Wouldn't that cost the shipper more?

Anyway I agree that I will give them until Friday. If ECG cannot respond within a full week since my first email then I"m opening a fraud case. While I used Payapl it did go to my Discover card which they have a great fraud department; zero liability actually so I am well covered with them; which is why I use them.

So I hope things work out but for anyone that reads this down the road be very leery dealing with ECG I would say.

Sounds good buddy, the good thing about paypal is they don't take lightly to disputes. Keep in mind too, by you using paypal for this transaction then there is a 100% return policy available as per code for a business to use paypal as an option. I would bet that by getting paypal involved that they can help alleviate the fog that has been going on due to the shops inactivity. I personally will be curious to hear the shop explain how the item should of weighed double from when it was delivered. When I got my sliders from demello they arrived in a custom fit box with zip ties all over the place. May not be a bad idea to see since SOS is the ones who made the sliders, to ask how they generally pack them as I doubt that the shop would have much reason to mess with them if they come ready to ship from SOS. It could give you more perspective into what likely happened if you can verify all other sources besides the shop.

I have attached a file of what it looked like when I received it....zero packaging...just a FedEx tag.

Since there wasn't any packaging, where was the fed ex tracking bar code and stuff at on the slider? Wow they didn't even wrap it or anything? These dudes seem shady, all the more reason they played the switcheroo with ya. I would def give SOS a call and tell them what happened and see if they could understand how the two sliders could of been separated for any reason from the shop. Half of the time when I order parts from a shop/vendor they end up coming straight from the fabricator, which in your case would of been SOS. I would think if the slider came shipped to me in pairs ready to go, I wouldn't want to tear them out just for the hell of it.

    Hey Coot,

So the FedEx tag was one of those sticky door tags they use; that was it. The shipping label shows it was shipped from ECG. I sent them another email and calmly explained the situation and asked that they contact me before the week is over to clarify what is going on otherwise I'm opening up a fraud investigation with Paypal and/or Discovercard. I tried calling them as I have done all week and it just goes to a voice mail box full message.

If businesses can get by operating like this and make money I'm clearly in the wrong field lol. Customer service would be my top priority but for some I guess it just doesn't matter.

My other concern is that everything that is "sold out" is still available for purchase on the website so other people might be placing orders for parts that are already gone. I ordered a rear Tacoma bumper with this order and I received an email a few days later that said the last one was purchased before I placed my order. Well your website should reflect inventory and show "sold out" once the last one is gone. If you go to ECG's site today you can still order all of these things. C'mon guys you need to do better...seriously..

Luckily they refunded the shipping and bumper cost within a day of that email. That is when customer service sort of disappeared.

    Hey Scott,

Yes for any future people reading this post this does NOT reflect SOS Concepts at all. As far as I can tell the Tacoma sliders look very well made and I hope to put them on once I receive the drivers side and the hardware. Until then....
