Okay guys so last night I get a call asking me to pull a couple of l my buddies out, being a nice guy I go and pull on out can't get the other guy out then I get stuck then I get out and so we go and get some more people and bigger trucks. Well while one of the bigger trucks was trying to back up to the truck that was still stuck his front end sinks (underground springs, so the area is like a marsh). So I try and pull him out with a regular strap, nothing happened. So we go and use a kinetic energy strap. One issue, I took my rear bumper (custom plate I built) off to paint it. So we had no where to hook the loop of the strap up to so we wrapped it over and around my spare tire carrier which was empty. I was a little nervous to use the strap because of how thin are frames are. Well I go for it and I pulled this full sized lifted Ford out of the mud which was up to the frame. Later that night I notice my spare tire carrier was pulled forward and my passenger side frame was cracked and crooked. Luckily the truck drives straight and it looks like it's on effected about a foot of the frame. So I'm gonna take the bed off and try and bend it straight then box it and hope it's good. Any advice? I'll post pictures tonight.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.

A combo of highlift jack, the stock bottle jack, and some timbers for bracing and you should be able to get it straightish and then weld it up. Then cut some get some plate steel and reinforce the frame at the repair.

The last photo of my bumper is just for fun :p it was off the truck when this incident happened. Its painted and I will be adding recovery point to it when I get the metal. Could I use the bumper, along with measuring to get the frame straight?

The bumper or the damage? that's the aftermath of a kinetic energy strap and me pinning it to win it to pull a full sized Ford on 35's that were buried out

The damage. That's like 100+ street cred points right there.

The spare carrier crossmember is replaceable. Getting the frame straight will be tricky...

Kenlyns, I plan to use a square tubing that's walls are about twice as thick as our frames so the brace should be stronger than the old cross member. I have access to a torch and was thinking that heating the area up before trying to bend it might be a good idea? I will have the bed off tomorrow and plan to fix it Monday and possible Tuesday if it takes that long.

Prayn4surf, I couldn't leave him there, he came out to help pull my buddy out. He just happened to hit a soft spot and sink with no warning. I'll post photos later with the bed off

How can I get this bolt off? The nut that I'm assuming was welded above has snapped and is now allowing the bolt to spin free. My dremel plus a cut off wheel couldn't cut it. Any advice? I might try to drill it out soon

You say you have access to a torch? Use it accordingly.

So the frame is looking much better! My phone is kind of broken right now so i'll try to get photos up of what i have done.
I welded a plate to where the frame had cracked and added cross bracing to hold either frame rail straight and am going to add more plating, and bracing just for added strength. What do you guys think about a flat bed? It would be removable just like the normal bed
