Noticing on my month old 2017 Taco that FM radio reception is VERY WEAK compared to our other two cars (2012 Infiniti G Series, 2016 Subaru Outback).

Both older cars can easily/well pick up a FM radio station from 45 miles away in my driveway or garage . . . The same station on the 2017 Taco is almost all fuzz, just in my driveway (forget about the garage).

Anyone noticing the same thing ?

gpb - If you can direct me to an unfound thread, I'll take it . . .

bobrown14 - With only 520 miles, have yet to to go back to dealer . . . . hoping that's not the response !

Damn, these 3rd gens are a bitch. I also heard from a reliable source they cause cancer. Wtf Toyota?

To the original poster: I've noticed my HD radio will occasionally get a weak signal and go back and forth between HD and regular, it appears to get fuzzy or somewhat muted.

So is there concerted agreement that FM radio reception is poor ?

Not trying to start a s*** fight, just want to see if this a common issue . . . (along with my right side BSM mirror not working).

Thought Toyota was the balls when I looked at all the reviews . . . Still like the truck.

Just gonna say this, my wife's 16 RAV4 with jbl system has issues with fm and XM and it pisses me off to no end. My 13 Tacoma has no issues and 07 Tacoma had no issues.

Search first and apply logic, you're setting the bar pretty high there for the 3rd gen forum.

Yes, I have experienced the same behavior, my Tacoma's reception is poor compared to my VW GTI. It was easy to tell, I drive the same route everyday to work, the Tacoma will drop the radio station in the same spot every time but not the VW. Not sure how to fix it, I have had the truck for almost 3 months and has less than 850 miles on it. Eventually when I take it in for service, I will mention to the dealer.

All jokes aside though, I've had no reception problems with mine.

Radio self fixes @ 4999 miles.... "cannot replicate"

Maybe antenna wire is loose.... I would ..... take it wheeling... see if you can't make it worse.

If you "live on the edge" like I do, you will have issues with FM reception.... It the big city N F Problems....
My 2006 Taco had better reception with the standard aerial....much better than this "carp fin" thing that's supposed to an aerial..
    I'm with you OP....
    You living on the edge..???:canada::thumbsup:

Over60... you live in Muskoka... there's only one radio station you need to worry about and that Moose FM... I can get that station in my boat!

I've lived in this town for almost 24 years and my 2017 is my 5th vehicle. Whether it the tuner or the antenna, this is the worst FM signal I've had in a vehicle. Decided to use Pandora more, doubted complaining to the dealer would help. (I've got the JBL upgrade.)

That does not sound promising, I live in a rural area and hoping the 17 will be ok.

It's not horrible, it's just worse. Last vehicle was a 2004 so I was hoping for improvement. I'm taking pandora/Bluetooth as the improvement.

I am probably in the minority but I actually listen to AM, FM, Satellite, CDs, and occasionally stream something thru my phone.

I agree... Just wish I could listen to it....!! also The Dock 104.4, but it don't work good enough here and I'm only 14 Mi N of Huntsville...
:annoyed::annoyed: Your boat has a better radio or antenna than my 16 Taco..
