I purchased some 5100 for my 4x4 reg cab and currently installing the rears. The shock however is compressed that it's making the boot all crunched up. Is this normal? I got the 5100 without the lift.

Looks to me like its all twisted from you tightening the upper bolt.
Try cutting the zip tie on the bottom and getting the boot lined up. Then re ziptie

Thank you very much!! That was it. I was doubting myself. This was my first installation of shocks ever. Thank you again!

Lol I've put on lots of shocks man.
Usually the very top of the stem has a place for like a 3/8 wrench to hold it.
Or I usually don't put the zip tie on till last.
Glad it worked enjoy the ride.
